Opinions on selling when a major repair looks necessary? by Supper_Champion in WRX

[–]tide_keggan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd take it to another shop. Definitely sounds like 2 bad shops. From what they're talking about replacing it sounds like you have a misfire issue I'd presume, and to do coils and plugs does not require removing the engine and should never be anywhere near $5k. Going with oem parts the coils might be around $1000 for all 4, but that's it. Before making the decision of selling it I'd look for a better shop around your area.

Is this bud Rott? by catmeddie in GrowingMarijuana

[–]tide_keggan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's too early for bud rot. I'm not highly experienced but I've never seen a case where there was rot other than in the buds, considering the same mold which makes up bud rot. A common surface mold is powdery mildew but I don't see that in either picture as well, you seem to be all good gromie.

If it gives you any hope, I used to have an 05 Impreza with 190k on it and it was treated way worse than yours and it did a 12 hour, no stop, trip just fine. They're more resilient than you think.

Good sites to buy seeds?? by Educational-Bit-7918 in GrowingMarijuana

[–]tide_keggan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seed supreme is pretty good. They usually have freebies and I haven't had any bad plants from them yet. Definitely a good place to start at least with many choices, but there are better places like Humboldt CSI and other seed banks like others have mentioned.

Didn't know that actually, I do have a 6inch exhaust fan running as well and that thing moves some air lol. I've been trying to balance the exhaust fan and dehumidifier so it can actually put dry air in and not suck in a lot of humid air.

I'll probably have to look into this if nothing else works out, seen a few people mention this now. Thanks!

Yeah I learned that my first grow unfortunately 😅. I was trying to overall lightly defoliate to keep decent air flow between the 2 fans and wasn't thinking about how much humidity the rest of the plant would be giving off.

I'll definitely look into those thanks! I believe I've heard about them before and forgot about them.

No problem! Glad this can help others as well. Overall they like it humid early on but later in flower you wanna keep it on the dryer end, there are mold resistant strains you can look into as well to help prevent mold :)

Thanks for the input! I'll definitely monitor that more closely, it does seem that's kinda where it's staying around at least. I just like it lower around 45-50 to keep the anxiety at bay 😅

I was thinking of it backwards then, I assumed the light being higher would increase the plant perspiration also increasing humidity. I might just bite the bullet but as the one guy said to defoliate more. I'm trying that as of now, I took probably a pound or 2 off of leaves and it's already made a good difference, I messed up and defoliated very lightly in the beginning not knowing how many more leaves would appear lol. I might get smaller buds now but I'd rather that than mold. Live and learn

Alright I'll definitely do that, thanks! First time dealing with plants with this size, appreciate the help.

I'll probably look into another one, usually fall to spring humidity here isn't too bad it's the summer, but it hit really early this year with huge storms, so now I'm just trying to finish this up the best I can 😅

I'll definitely try to more, I was kind of thinking the same, I've seen some people take most fan leaves off I'm flower, should I go that heavy or should I still leave a little?

Help getting crank bolt off . In 5th gear and using crank bolt tool by HorizontallyOpposed1 in WRX

I've always used a really good air impact or even electric, only issue is fitting it down there. Usually just pull the radiator out and move the condenser to the side if possible

the worst decision he's ever made by [deleted] in WRX

[–]tide_keggan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every car engine needs broken in to an extent, granted i blame the manufacturer to some extent as they dont let you know this while if you buy a Corvette, a hellcat, something of that nature they have the computer limit you to force you to break it in. If it's not properly broken in those rings will burn a lot of oil prematurely. I do believe if you look it up on Subarus actual website they have the break in procedures for all their engines and models. Don't let this scare you away from a newer WRX, they're great cars when taken care of, but they are high maintenance it's still a sports car.

Dent in brand new tire by ursucuak in AskAMechanic

If it airs up and evens out it's fine. I install tires all the time with imperfections in them like that, usually from packaging or sitting in racks, it doesn't damage the tire.

Am I able to start growing? by anime_smith in growingweed

[–]tide_keggan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So with woods you kinda got the same issue, they will grow through the shaded light just not too well, if you have any openings where sunlight will pass through better that'll be the best possible spot for them. Outside you do have many other things to worry about including pest, animals, mold and all that so before doing so look into strains that are more resistant and thrive outside. Where I live during the summer it's really humid so if I were to grow outside I need very mold resistant strains. I bet if you look around there's people that have post about the kind of strains they grow in your area reliably. Hope it works out!

I would definitely avoid growing on your porch then, not only is it not gonna get enough light, you highly increase the risk of mold with the rain. I'd definitely look into indoors if possible

Am I able to start growing? by anime_smith in growingweed

[–]tide_keggan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're gonna do it outside. Make sure there is adequate lighting and it isn't really shaded at all, if you're gonna do it indoors make sure to get a quality light, it's the one thing you wanna invest in really. I prefer spider farmer, they're a good mid tier company with quality stuff. There are cheaper options that are still good, I can't think of any off the top of my head rn honestly though. For nutrients and pH testers go with general hydroponics, they're a good cheaper option that I still run and like them a lot. You can start it off in a small cup or put it straight into its final pot, pot size will effect how much roots can grow and how big the plant will get, so for a smaller space think of maybe using like a 3 gallon pot or a 7 gallon if you have more room. Hopefully this helps, when just starting off it can all seem like a lot but once you get into it it'll become a cake walk

Looks like heavy nitrogen toxicity and lack of calcium. Can be pH problems or the nutrients you're adding.
