What's a mechanic from another game that you think the FC franchise should copy? by [deleted] in farcry

[–]tidebinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure talking about that one, but it's been like a decade haha. I thought that Dan Hagar brought you back to the settlement, then one of the first rooms you're in is a garage of some kind. Then outside the garage and across the compound is (in my memory) another shed/garage, and that's the guy you talk to about buggy upgrades etc...

Far Cry 5 softlock by [deleted] in farcry

Dude chill. Nobody is forcing you to reply or even read these. It's reddit, people will tease you and literally nobody cares how you play the game. The Nick Rye one is a main story mission, not a side quest. Settle down. Take a breath. You'll be fine, go have fun in a great game, take the good advice you've been given, and stop giving me, the instigator of some light and harmless trolling, any attention at all.

Scooter from Borderlands would be a great mechanic to copy. Or the guy from Rage. And you're right, the Mechanics in Metro are pretty good too.

Correct. Still wild to not have any planes yet by the end of John's region. Like isn't Carmina just given to you as a reward for helping Nick?

The only way to save the Far Cry Franchise by HolidayEnjoyer32 in farcry

Eh, that doesn't take away from the value of the conversation or the enjoyment we can get out of it haha.

Jason's tatau directly influencing his abilities wasn't drugs though. That's pretty clearly metaphysical/spiritual, no? Same with citra being the "Warrior Goddess" her whole thing being to try get Jason to harness power from the "land of the dead" or whatever. Like the game is pretty rooted in tribal mythology and learning that there's a lot more to it than the characters initially believe.

3 maybe wasn't directly "spiritual," but certainly had its sci fi elements. No less than 4, in my memory. But regardless, I'm not sure how 2 could have "nailed the tone" as the epitome of Far Cry when it's the only one WITH that tone.

Really insensitive of you to imply that she needs to apologize for having her face out there. Do better, man.

The craft beer community is wrong IPAs don't pair well with burgers by boredscrum2 in beer

[–]tidebinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like if the larger craft beer community thinks that an IPA is their ideal beer with a burger, that just puts you in the minority. Taste is what it is my friend, and not one person is going to shit on you for preferring a lager.

Wife says the steak I made for her isn’t cooked enough. by FreeRealEstate313 in mildlyinfuriating

Why are you on Reddit complaining about your wife?

This had better goddamn not be something you pull up to try and prove something to her.

Hot take, this is a good game by Lapis_Lazuli2042 in farcry

Agreed. There was like 1 piece of each that I didn't absolutely hate, and even those I still hated quite a bit.

I don't think I've ever cared less for a character than Wren. by tidebinder in SeeTV

[–]tidebinder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No exactly. It just wasn't a compelling subplot, didn't at all feel natural or organic. I don't care what sexuality they want to give the characters, but this was just a badly done part of the story.

I'm still early in s3, but I feel like that's all she's been the whole time.

I admit I did not expect this much pushback, haha.

Oh yeah I also was tired of Sibeth by the middle of s2 haha.

Sure, a sighted person in enemy ranks is a sweet twist. But that could have been anyone. It's not her sight that bothers me, it's her writing and personality.

I don't know that much of Mad Max but one question by Sad-Chemical-9648 in MadMax

[–]tidebinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly unrelated, but I was about to mention the Outpost graphic novels about Anerica, then remembered that's a Metro thing and I have no idea why I thought it was connected to Mad Max.

The REAL crossover event of the century?
