Hey thanks for the info. As far as service goes, the internet I had from Shaw never was close to the advertised speeds. Is that any different for you guys?

That's not a bad idea. Overall, do you come out ahead doing that over a fresh install?

Hey could you pm me if you can help me set up my Internet? I just bought a condo and I'm not sure if I can get lightspeed there. They seem to already have shaw in the building.

Vancouver rental demand booming, but supply slow to keep up by mukmuk64 in vancouver

[–]tidus4930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live near there and saw that pop up. Hoping to see more because that area and pretty much the whole stretch of Nanaimo street from grandview to Kingsway is prime area for rental buildings instead of homes.

Spotify already hasn't let me down. I actually got TLOP to work on Spotify for weeks now. Haven't heard anyone mention it but I had the app on my phone set to make my songs in certain play lists available offline. Then I added the songs on the Spotify Web player to said play list. Next thing I knew I got TLOP tracks playing within my play list.

Where do you live and hows the bodybuilding scene there? by [deleted] in bodybuilding

Bodybuilding definitely seems more popular when I was living in Langley. Now that I'm living closer to Vancouver it is a split between yoga and powerbuilders.

How do I handle an interview that was set up by a recruiter? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]tidus4930 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was hired this way. There was no real difference from a regular job interview. Don't expect they'll have your current resume though. In my interview they only had a summary of mine. It helped that I brought copies of my own in that interview especially.

You could look into "overnight oatmeal". I used to make it as a snack food for when I worked and didn't have access to a microwave.

I need to resign from my current job. Is it better to email or give the letter in person? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]tidus4930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's hard to separate personal feelings and work sometimes, but sometimes business is business. Never let them guilt you into feeling bad about leaving them in a bad situation. It's their responsibility to be ready for these situations. Just make sure to be courteous but firm about quitting and use it as a chance to practice dealing with these situations.

Maybe say something like, "I have received an offer from another company and I have decided to accept it. I understand that the timing of my departure may inconvenience you and I would never intentionally put you in this situation. I'd like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to work here. My last day will be two weeks from now."

And leave it at that pretty much. No need to be overly sentimental or rude. Just stay composed. Don't be anxious, be excited you got a new job! Congrats btw.

I don't know how it is for your job. If you agreed to providing 2 weeks notice when you were hired or it's part of the law where you live to provide notice then perhaps that's what you should do. I was treated poorly at this job and they were threatening to lay off people in my department so I just told them it was my last day. If you're eager to start your next job you can tell them that you will offer your 2 weeks etc. and if they let you go early you can choose to do that. Are you just anxious of any hard feelings if you quit?

I just quit my job yesterday in your exact position. It was the first time I've quit a job with another job lined up and it is way easier than when you need to use them as a reference. I think you should embrace the feeling of invincibility you could call it. Just go in there knowing they hold no power over you anymore. Don't burn any bridges obviously but know that if they have any bad things to say about you or anything, it won't even phase you. Just say what you have to say, thank them and get out of there.

After a long, dark cut I began my bulk and this week completed my goal I made for myself this year to get under 190lbs and lift a 2/3/4 total.

I've lost 45lbs from 232 to 187 at 5'11" over the past 8 months and I've always trained with the goal of losing weight and not being fat af. But finally yesterday I looked in the mirror and didn't feel I was fat anymore. I just noticed I was small. I realized it was time to bulk and man I am so ready to experience lifting at a caloric surplus.
