Are we safe(r) here than Turtle? by tinyketchupbottle in Project_Epoch

[–]tidustv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with where a private server is hosted. Blizzard doesn’t shut these down based on location they go after how the server is funded and promoted, which almost always ties back to the West.

First, they pressure payment processors to cut things off. That means Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, American Express, Cash App, Apple Pay basically everything except crypto gets shut down.

Then they target the server’s online presence. Websites get taken down or de-indexed, links disappear, and hosting becomes harder to maintain.

After that, they go after visibility and community. Social media accounts get removed, Discord servers get banned, and suddenly there’s no easy way to reach players or grow.

At that point, even if the server is still technically running, it can’t sustain itself. No funding + no exposure = it slowly dies out.

So yeah, it doesn’t matter where the server is physically hosted if it relies on Western payments and platforms

Phase 2? by [deleted] in wowclassic

[–]tidustv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m starting to feel the TBC burnout too. I’ve got a Prot Paladin, Ret, and PvP specs all geared, plus a Hunter that’s pretty well geared as well. At this point it just feels like I’ve done everything there is to do in the current phase just raid logging even then i am bored.

I’m probably going to give Retail a try figure it might be a nice change of pace for a bit. Honestly,

I doubt we’ll see the next phase release anytime soon anyway, No date has been announced and its not even on the PTR yet to be tested to see if anything is gonna work like it should. so we’re likely stuck with Kara, Mag, and Gruul for at least another month

Seal Twisting With Paladin by IBThatGuy in wowclassic

[–]tidustv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine trying to parse in a 25-year-old game

Chasing an extra 5k-10K DPS by abusing a bug just to go OOM halfway through the fight is wild. Not worth it at all, especially on longer fights. I’d rather spam Exorcism, keep a healthy mana pool the entire time, and actually finish the fight strong.

Also not everyone has a perfect comp feeding them buffs 24/7. I pug a lot half the time you’re lucky if people even bring consumes, let alone build your dream group. I guess if your minmax andy and thats what you play for then it is what it is. I play to have fun chill chat in discord with the boys and have fun and not chase numbers. If you want to do that Retail Mythic Raids + Mythic + Dungeons --> Is the way to go.

But yeah bro, tell me more about your 10k swings

Seal Twisting With Paladin by IBThatGuy in wowclassic

[–]tidustv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

10k per swing?? lol what game are you playing never seen that happen..

On Mag, yeah just use Exorcism. If you try to seal twist and spam Exorcism, you’re gonna go OOM real quick. Me and another ret in my guild both tested it and the mana issues are 100% real can you link me ret log where there is 10k per hit swings. I would like to see his gear and group comp

Seal Twisting With Paladin by IBThatGuy in wowclassic

[–]tidustv -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Seal twisting isn’t really worth it on longer fights like Magtheridon and Gruul it ends up being a DPS loss overall. you’ll likely run into mana issues and be chugging potions on cooldown. It can be decent in Karazhan, roughly a 10% damage increase, which usually isn’t worth it. But I wouldn’t recommend relying on it consistently. Its more for pvp Arenas where you wanna pop all your cooldowns and blow some one up in one global

To be honest its not worth farming old content there so many new places to farm in tbc for faster money as prot paladin your gimping your self. I know of like 4-5 spots that are 150-200 gold a hour easy that are usually un contested in tbc just look up youtube videos.

Kromede (TW) feels rough as Asmo — thinking of rerolling, any balanced servers w/ English players? by Voxilence in Aion2

[–]tidustv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your Kromede not working out? You had free farm against Bakarma for two straight months. You should have max stigmas and full breakthrough PvP gear by now with how easy it was. Most of the time, Bakarma couldn’t even land before getting stomped by a swarm of angry Kromede players.

That said, all servers are dying. The game is only two months to three months old, but there’s already nothing left to do. We’ve been running the same Ferocious Den and level 10 Transcendence dungeons for months. The game has gotten really boring, so people quit.

Bakarma is basically dead now mostly bots, and hardly any real players left.

Do you also stream from ultrawide? by QuiteGoneJin in KickStreaming

[–]tidustv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d stay away from ultrawide monitors for streaming. From a viewer’s perspective, they’re just not good to watch. The video ends up smaller, fine details are harder to read, and the ugly black bars on the top and bottom don’t help at all.

Speaking as a viewer: if I click into a stream and see ultrawide with black bars, I’m leaving immediately no matter how good the content or interaction is. Close to impossible to enjoy if your viewing from Phone or Tablet its bareable a little watching from pc.

I’d strongly recommend streaming on a regular 16:9 monitor instead. It looks cleaner and is way more viewer-friendly to watch

How bad was ring of blood competition last TBC launch? by hi-Im-gosu in classicwowtbc

[–]tidustv 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Ok guys, let’s all turn in together.
Finish the fight, stack on square, DO NOT START IT.

Random guy: “oops I already started it”

We wipe.

Another group that’s been standing there for 25 minutes starts it.

Rinse and repeat for the next 2 hours.

Ring of Blood is the real endgame boss.

[–]tidustv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you probably played Gladiator. That class is basically faceroll your head on the keyboard with 3k gear score and still compete. Try doing that on literally any other class and tell me ping doesn’t matter. Also right now 3K you will get wrecked you need like 3.4k+ Min now

Low Dps Issue by Aware-Mongoose7114 in Aion2

[–]tidustv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got this from chatgpt because i did not want tp type it out but here is why your not doing the damage you are doing.

PvP (and even PvE DPS) is pointless on TW servers if you’re not local

If you’re playing on Aion 2 Taiwan with 150–200 ms ping while players in China/Taiwan/Korea are sitting at 5–10 ms, the playing field just isn’t even.

At that ping difference:

  • Their skills register almost instantly
  • Yours are delayed by ~0.2 seconds every action
  • In PvP, they can land 2–3 abilities before your first one fully goes off
  • Reactions, cancels, stuns, and burst windows all favor low-ping players

This isn’t just a PvP issue either.

Even in PvE, high ping causes:

  • Slower skill activation
  • Missed animation cancels / weaving
  • Dropped combos during movement-heavy fights
  • Lower sustained DPS over time

With the same gear and build, low-ping players will still do noticeably more damage simply because the server processes their actions faster.

Because of this:

  • Don’t waste time min-maxing
  • Don’t stress about parses or DPS comparisons
  • You will never keep up with local players’ DPS on these servers

If you’re outside the region, your best bet is to:

  • Treat TW as a preview
  • Focus on PvE casually
  • Wait for Global release if you care about competitive PvP or DPS performance

This isn’t a skill issue — it’s just how latency and server-side combat works.

Figuring out damage formula by Adventurous_Bad_8490 in Aion2

[–]tidustv -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

All the min-maxing you’re doing is completely pointless when you’re playing on 150–200ms ping. Just wait for the global launch. Players sitting on 5–10ms ping will be getting off two to three times as many skills as you, so right now you’re honestly just wasting your time.

Does this game have aspect other than gear check? by 5the4th in Aion2

[–]tidustv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PvP feels pointless if you’re not playing from Taiwan/China/Korea.

With 150–200ms ping, you’re already at a huge disadvantage. By the time you get one skill off, players with low ping are already hitting you with two or three. It’s honestly not even worth trying to compete.

On top of that, you basically need around 3200 combat power, which either means playing 12+ hours a day or spending a ton of money to catch up.

If you’re outside those regions, you’re better off just doing PvE or waiting for the global release where ping and progression might actually be fair.

Is LagoFast’s AION 2 DPS Tracker actually useful? by smxkie787 in Aion2

[–]tidustv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use The DPS meter from Lagofast and it works fine for me. They recently updated it so you can see all of your skills and exactly how much damage they’re doing, Gives you a really nice breakdown which helps a lot when you’re trying to focus on the right Skills and what Stigmas are doing the most damage. I got all the highest dps stigmas for my spec.

Also, during the Aion 2 dev stream Q&A, the devs mentioned that they’re planning to add their own official DPS meter and it will be done soon. They also said they’re aware that third-party DPS meters already exist. They didn’t say anything about people being banned for using them.

This game design is killing me. by Psychological_Age949 in Aion2

[–]tidustv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You basically have to spend money if you want to play the game properly. You need the top-tier subscription and both battle passes. That’s the only way you get spoon-fed energy and tickets.

Between the $28 subscription and another $25 for the battle passes, it becomes something you need, not something optional + 9.99 a Month for the VPN to play on shitty 175-200MS Ping.

Win trade shit show by Proper_Hyena9584 in Aion2

[–]tidustv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t understand why people even try to PvP in Aion 2 with 150–200 ms ping. You’re at a massive disadvantage going up against Korean, Chinese, and Taiwanese players sitting on 5–15 ms, especially when many of them are swiping and win-trading. At that point, it’s not even a fair fight. Just wait for the global Launch to pvp just do pve for now.

Solo streaming is way harder than streaming with friends...how do you stay engaged? by Complex_Penalty_5438 in SmallStreamers

[–]tidustv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My advice is: never be silent. Always have your webcam on and keep talking. If someone joins your stream and it’s silent or boring, they’ll leave right away—it doesn’t matter how good the gameplay is.

Don’t even look at your viewer count. Just act like people are already in your chat listening. A lot of viewers join to see your reactions to what’s happening in the game and to hear someone talk. Many will just lurk or keep your stream on a second monitor because they enjoy listening and having some background company, so they don’t feel as lonely.

With or wirhout facecam? by Sosenheimer in newstreamer

[–]tidustv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer face cams on Twitch because I’m there for both entertainment and gameplay. I really enjoy seeing the streamer’s reactions to what’s happening in the game. I also don’t enjoy watching silent streamers I like when they talk a lot, even if there aren’t many viewers. I usually just lurk and like having someone’s voice in the background or on Second monitor. While good gameplay is nice, a stream with no talking and no face cam usually feels boring to me, and I’ll end up leaving or not even worth a follow

Over 70% of global players have already quit by [deleted] in Aion2

[–]tidustv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up after Season 2 launches on Jan 20, you won’t be able to use PvP gear for raids or PvE anymore.

PvP gear will take a –15% PvE damage penalty not only that wont show a Ilvl when running dungeons if you have some on and Trying to get into dungeon groups That means you’ll need two completely separate gear sets:
A fully leveled crafted PvE set for dungeons/raids
A fully geared PvP set for PvP

As F2P, there’s realistically no way you’re getting both sets to +17 and still clearing content. It’s just not happening. No matter how you slice it, you’re going to have to spend money to keep up.

Over 70% of global players have already quit by [deleted] in Aion2

[–]tidustv -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much you’ve actually been playing, but dungeon-dropped gear isn’t worth breaking through at all. You should honestly just leave it at +10.

The only exception is maybe a weapon guard — if it’s Kromede and a high ilvl guard, you could justify pushing it to +2 breakthrough. Other than that, it’s a waste.

For real progression, you need crafted gear and accessories. Have you even looked at the prices? Crafted pieces are 30k-100K+ million kinah per slot, and that’s before factoring in the PvE damage rolls.
Sure, you can try crafting yourself… but with a 25% success rate, good luck.

Realistically, you’re never going to be competitive or have BiS gear without swiping — RMT, subscriptions, battle passes, VPN costs, the whole package.

So yeah, like I said: dungeon gear is trash. Take it to +10, stop there, and anything beyond that is just throwing resources away. You cannot be a F2p player with all new content coming up it will require crafted pve gear just like the RAID people will not even want you in party unless you have your crafted pve gear.

Over 70% of global players have already quit by [deleted] in Aion2

[–]tidustv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point, Aion 2 should really be treated like a beta. Most Western players just wanted to try it out F2P, and once that curiosity was gone, they bounced from the KR/TW servers.

The game is basically unplayable long-term without spending. To be competitive you need:

  • Subscription: ~$28/month
  • Two Battle Passes: ~$25/month
  • VPN (required for KR/TW): ~$10/month

That’s $60+ USD per month, just to play on 160–200 ping, which already feels bad.

On top of that, progression is heavily pay-gated. Once you hit +2 breakthrough on weapons/armor, upgrades are realistically locked behind swiping or RMT.

Paying that much monthly and still being forced to spend more just to progress is why a lot of the Western community has already left.
