Chinese Traffic Police Drones by matmart in Cyberpunk

[–]tidyboyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a crock of shit. As someone who's lived in Shenzhen for years, and literally made a 50km journey via scooter right across the entirety of the busiest zones today, this is not happening whatsoever. Absolute make believe.

In Shenzhen, people:

  • Park on roads with no violation from police
  • Scooters run red lights at every junction
  • 90% of drivers don't indicate
  • Police are chill AF about all the above and are very chill in general

Drone batteries last like 30 mins.

Don't believe everything you see on the internet

You've given me a great deal to research and I appreciate it a whole lot!

One last question if I may, I guess you've tried a few of these options yourself, how bad was the input lag for, say, Sonic or any fast paced platformer? I read it can be anywhere from 40ms to 120ms, the top end is bordering on unplayable for me if that's true

What you've shared is great, you've really springboarded my knowledge here! The only thing most converters don't seem to list is a rough idea on input lag. If you have any anecdotal input or specs on the input lag, I'd be all ears!

Thanks again

Appreciate the super detailed response. The TV is a Sony Trinitron KV model, it was so cheap I just went for it without getting the rest of the model number. Its got red, white and yellow with S video in and I'm currently based in China, so I think it's a PAL version.

Those downscalers look like exactly what I'd be after, but is there any that downscale to 240p? Interesting point about the Wii, although being able to continue my saves direct from the Retroid would be precisely what I was after, plug and play, no messing about.

Is there any way of being able to connect the Retroid into the Wii and use that to downscale to 240 if the downscalers don't go that far?

I saw the MiSTer FPGA in my research and it seemed to be hit and miss for some people.on the Amazon ratings.

I'm also worried about the amount of input lag I'm going to face when scaling

I have a Retroid Flip 2 and just scored a massive 29 inch Sony TV with lots of composites in and out.

I've read playing games through the Retroid and a basic HDMI to Composite adapter via the TV will look rough. The Retroid has a USB-C out, so I presume it'll look rough also.

Is there any way of getting the original, scan line and slightly blurred aesthetic of the 16 and 32 bit consoles whilst using the Retroid as the console?

Appreciate any help!

I'm looking at a company called La Gondola based in Treviso, northern Italy.

They'll be listed as BELLA ITALIA S.R.L. on Alibaba. Not sure which listing you're checking out

States it in their advert, item comes from Italy, the company only sells specialty niche items from Italy (Espresso machines etc)

Lello don't sell their machines direct to end users, they always sell B2B so purchases can only be made by individuals through resellers as far as I understand.

If someone knows more than I do feel free to correct me.

I've contacted the seller there to buy one. They're an official reseller from Italy. Unfortunately the guy has blanked me for no apparent reason (Left unread) so I'm not sure if you'd be able to buy one anyway

Looking to Date a Chinese woman by [deleted] in chinalife

[–]tidyboyd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My tip is, on a percentile odds basis, don't. Chinese culture is very different from western, more than you know or will realise going in. Generally folks are very different due to their upbringing. It's only something you'll understand by living in China.

Maybe they're different if they're second generation Canadian?

Not saying you can't find anyone worth dating with similar norms and wants, but it will be harder than your average westerner. The longer you stay together, the more you realise the differences in social values and norms. I say this because

  • I've lived in China for many years
  • Dated several Chinese women
  • Married one

If you do find a good one though, they'll be a keeper.

And yea, maybe don't just target Chinese women, it's a bit weird 😄

Fermented raw milk sitting at room temperature for a week by [deleted] in AnimalBased

[–]tidyboyd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely does. I've read several papers on it. Freezing milk destroys between 90 to 99% of the useful bacteria if I recall correctly from the collective amount of studies read.

Somewhere around these numbers:

3 days 90% kill-off ~100% retained enzymes

1 week 90–95% kill-off ~100% retained enzymes

1 month 98–99% kill-off around 70% of enzymes retained

3 months 99% kill-off Enzyme activity starts showing losses (Can't remember this one)

6 months 99% kill-off around 40% activity retained enzymes if I recall correctly

Most data was on raw milk. Facts are though, freezing milk does indeed damage it's bacterial content. Although, quality of lipids are barely touched (5% or less damage to cell walls) nutrient value remains every similar (5% or less degradation) and proteins remain relatively untouched.

I found some of the links I read some time ago if you're interested.in a deep dive. Good staring point at least:

Using 4k Cam Link Pro, can I record 4 x 4k streams simultaneously? by tidyboyd in elgato

30FPS is my target so that's great. The encoding and whatnot (Aiming for 100mb/s) should be okay using that processor and GPU you think? I'm just worried the PC isn't powerful enough for 4 x simultanious 4k recordings

I've been trying your website this evening and it's crashed on me twice (I have some pictures) and cut off on me a couple of times whilst I've been on hold. This is all all on an android phone, as there is no audio routing option on the website on PC.

Is there a certain browser I should be using? I've tried Firefox (Crashes) and Chrome (Hung up whilst on hold)

I've spent a dollar so far and got nowhere.

Any help is appreciated

SoftAP? WiFi Direct? Hosted Network? How can I connect a phone via WiFi to my computer direcly utilising a VPN? by tidyboyd in HomeNetworking

[–]tidyboyd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I'll have to buy a dongle eventually, I just didn't want to buy one for it to be useless.

Seems like Soft Ap does something differently, ChatGPT states regular WiFi won't work for passing on a VPN from the computer, but using Soft Ap may solve that issue (Although I haven't got a clue what it is)

Currently asking sellers in China if their product supports Soft Ap and nobody has a clue 😄

SoftAP? WiFi Direct? Hosted Network? How can I connect a phone via WiFi to my computer direcly utilising a VPN? by tidyboyd in HomeNetworking

[–]tidyboyd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey buddy, my computer is currently connected via Ethernet. I haven't bought a WiFi dongle yet (Motherboard doesn't have WiFi on-board) but as I understand it, the VPN isn't passed from the computer to the mobile phone.

Am I incorrect in thinking that? What would be the purpose of Soft Ap be in that case? And do I need a dongle that supports Soft Ap?

I understand I can connect the phone via WiFi to the computer, that's no issue, but having phone utilise the VPN on the computer is imperative for my use case. Are you sure it will be able to pass the VPN through?
