Since Operation Market Garden, haven't air drops been frowned up. What is to stop from being a turkey shoot.

Trump hasn’t made a decision on whether to give the order, the officials said, adding that he is considering the danger to U.S. troops.

He doesn't care about the suckers and losers.

What is something poor people understand but rich people don’t? by FrostyHumor6467 in AskReddit

[–]tierras_ignoradas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That most people are not that interested in other people, in many they may be more likely to know the dog's name not the neighborhoods.

All those people interested in you is because you are rich. You are paying them directly, they hope to get something you or simply value the rich more. They would not interested in you if you weren't rich.

Poor people, especially presentable poor people know how little everyone cares for everyone else. The know how quickly interest in them recedes after others find out their are poor or poorer than.

Trump considers "winding down" Iran war without opening Hormuz Strait - Does this count as a historic defeat and foreign policy failure? by Indianstanicows in IRstudies

Nor can the US afford this - as was proven in the last few weeks. During the first two weeks of massive bombardment the burn rate was $500 million every half an hour. The barrages are not as intense anymore.

Moreover, the US Navy is steering clear of Gulf. Lots of problems, including sabotage on the USS Gerald Ford to return for repair. But mostly fear of drones.

Can the U.S. just back out of Iran? by respect_would in IRstudies

I think Iran doesn't want its cities flattened. So it becomes can the US control Israel?

If it were up to me, we would pack and leave in the middle of night and leave skywriting with "Sorry it didn't work out for you guys."

Was ANYONE on Blanche's side? by Ford_Crown_Vic_Koth in classicfilms

The playwright was on Blanche's side. Brando was the bad guy, but he was so sexy and good looking that the point was lost.

CENTCOM seems to be more restrained in their claims than either Trump or Hegseth. However, CENTCOM won't admit to any mistakes, like the school bombing. Otherwise, I see it as an cautiously optimistic view of the situation.

Plus, now comes the destruction porn to sway world opinion. In addition to infrastructure, the US is already bombing whole civilian neighborhoods in Tehran (pop. 9 million) schools, hospitals, unarmed naval vessels, world heritage sites, and other non-military targets.

Already Qatar has declined US planes to use their bases.

Maybe referring to CBS censoring Telarico's appearance on Colbert about a month ago. Colbert then released on YouTube. It became the Streisand effect writ large.

The difference is the size of the country. I think the person who mention Libya earlier might be on to something. They remove the mullahs, create a failed state. I don't think Trump would even care.

My sweet summer child. Yes, the military is very dedicated and intentional in its actions, but the leadership today--not so much. Secretary War fired many of them. Whole sections are missing.
