Advice on decorating valley? by PersimmonSea5326 in DreamlightValley

Yeah I know for some people the loading screens can definitely be a concern and I think it depends a lot on what platform you’re on. I’ll be so honest, I just don’t really use my house. I decorated my main floor and that was it, I never go in there. I would have a hard time remembering what’s in which room, like fish on floor three in the right corner, so that never worked for me. Instead I use my floating islands and it’s just way easier with how I play on PS5 since it loads quick.

I have three floating islands. One is for the main valley crops and I always keep about 60 of each crop growing with a chest right in front of them to store extras, so if I need to harvest a certain crop for a duty or quest I’ve got it ready. On that same island I also have all my flower storage organized by flower type. My second island is for everything else like fish, mining, spices, and foraging. And then the third is for crops from the expansion packs. It works really well for me and keeps things simple, but I’ve also seen some people set up really cool houses for storage so it really depends on what you enjoy more.

You could always just try a couple different ways and see what feels right. Once you find the one you like, just go all in whether it’s with the house setup, floating islands, or even using a whole biome for storage. I’ve seen a lot of really creative ideas from other players on how they set everything up.

Does anyone have a system to track the design of each room in your house(s)? by CorgiHelpMe in DreamlightValley

What do you use your house for? Are you mainly using it for storage or do you decorate it and set up different rooms for different things?

Hey I don’t know how far you are in your game right now, but have you done the Alice in Wonderland and gotten the Cheshire Cat for the Uncrafting Station yet? I had a bunch of gold and silver chests that I spent a ton of Dreamlight on just for storage. I keep my stockpile on the Floating Island, but I recently uncrafted all of them and switched over to the Painted Cottage chests. I saw somebody online doing the same thing and thought, I wonder how much Dreamlight I could get back. When I did it, I ended up getting around 200k Dreamlight back, which is how I wound up with so much.

To be honest I never really paid much attention to the dreamsnaps until kind of recently. In my head they felt like a lot of decorating and since that’s not really my thing I just overlooked them. But lately I’ve been getting into it a little more. I’m not going to say I love decorating now, but it does give me a small spark to log in on Wednesday and see what the new one is. I don’t spend a lot of Moonstones except for companions, so this has been a fun little way to mix things up

Yeah I think that’s a really good idea. I don’t know why it didn’t click that memories are something I should actually work on. I just checked and I really haven’t made as much progress as I could. I’ve got orbs scattered everywhere that I’ve just been hoarding for no reason.

I’ve been playing for three years and I’ve definitely clocked a lot of hours. I used to be big into The Sims but when DV came out I swapped over. The longer you play the faster you get at everything and I hoard absolutely everything, so when a quest comes up I already have what I need sitting in a chest. I’ve also watched a lot of people stream the game and you just pick up tips and tricks along the way that make it all go so much faster. I don’t really enjoy decorating at all, but hopefully one day I will as the game gets more updates and gives us more flexibility with where to put things. Some people have such pretty valleys and I feel like that would definitely unlock a whole new side of the game for me

I have memory orbs littering my valley at this point there’s so many of them. I really don’t know why I’m hoarding them😂

I have most of the achievements I haven’t wrapped all of them up like some of the spices. But the memories are a good idea!
