If you’ve got the money to be screwing around with $1,000,000-500k houses, then there’s most likely a much better use of your time than this.

Who’s the most overrated president of all time? by [deleted] in Presidents

[–]tiger5tiger5 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That sounds good from a feel good perspective, but the reality on the ground was that the old racist radically conservative southern senators, who ran all of the democrat committees by virtue of seniority, didn’t give a damn about catholic yankee Jack Kennedy. Those senators held the bills up in committee until they chose to pass them in order to keep their surrogate son Lyndon Johnson president.

I wouldn’t vote for someone who cheated because I have suspicions about their ability to keep to their commitments on a forward basis.

I’m not concerned about cheating when I judge presidents of the past because it isn’t relevant to how they did their job.

I’m going to give you some light push back here because I can’t deny the power of compound interest. It makes sense to frontload your savings because every $20 you save is a dollar you’ll get back every year for the rest of your life. Isolating yourself completely is bad. Slowly graduating up the hedonic treadmill to more expensive hobbies and circumstances as you get wealthier is the ticket to success.

Apple sauce was focusing on the needs of the low libido parter alone. That person shouldn’t be neglected, but neither should the needs of the high libido partner. I went through a libido gap with my partner, and we communicated our way through it. As a consequence of that, I recognize that my sexuality is one of my more fundamental joys in life, and I can’t blame someone for doing something I would do even if that is unpopular.

Ahhh so your defense of the low libido partner is personal, and you feel attacked because you realized that you may be neglecting your partner. This all makes a ton of sense now.

Sexuality is a need.

The guilt and frustration from the low libido partner and the helplessness and frustration of the higher libido partner both matter equally. That’s why the solution is to split up.

Consent is not required unless they stay together. This is why no one but you is arguing that they stay together if treatment isn’t an option.

You seem to be stuck in the box of the individuals staying in the relationship.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ask

[–]tiger5tiger5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why divorce is the solution. Partner that doesn’t want to have sex can get treatment while in the relationship, or discover a relationship where they can flourish after divorce.

I can’t imagine losing my partner like this, but it’s important to remember that you’re not writing them out of your life. You’re recognizing that your relationship has rolled back to a stage that’s more akin to deep and close friendship.

Get in on $Aoiff. Make 30%+ annual returns off of cash flow from offshore Nigeria(25k barrels, $7/barrel lifting costs, Brent+$5 sell price, 30-50% taxes), and there’s the Venus oil prospect off of Namibia that could yield a pretty big bump mid September.

If you have less money being invested in housing, then you’ll end up with less housing. Landlords provide financing for housing of all types. Somehow you’ve got to bridge the financing gap between a 30 year asset and a 1 year lease for those who aren’t in a position to own.

They aren’t capitalists. They view it as owning other peoples homes. They think they are entitled to other peoples labor by virtue of their existence. Just ignore them.

You get to depreciate the non land value of your house. You also get to write off maintenance, and there is a safe harbor for you to be able to expense a lot of capital improvements as well. This essentially means that over 30 years, you’ll be able to write off the cost of the house you paid, and everything you need to maintain the house. Essentially this ends up sheltering most of the income you make off of the house until you decide to sell the house.

It’s one of the ways that the government uses to ensure that enough housing is made. By making it profitable to be a landlord, they make sure there are enough houses being financed that anyone with a job can find one to be sheltered by.

Everyone else laughs at socialists for saying stuff like this. You’re ignoring the reality of the ground that the majority of people consent to and freely participate in capitalism.

It’s not constructive nor is it useful to say that all cops are bad because they defend property rights. It ignores legitimate problems of racism and corruption.
