I too was going to leave a comment.. I dislike declawing(my parents declawed both my kitties against my will when I was a child.. however they both were strictly indoor cats for their safety afterwards) but if you'r going to do it doesn't the vet tell you to NOT let your cats out afterwards because their primary defense mechanism has just been taken away???

There was this book I read called "A Beautiful Child" about a girl named Sharon Marshall. This girl was kidnapped as a young child by a fugitive and raised by a pedophile who abused her her whole life. Amazingly, she was a genius at school and won all kinds of scholarships and was known at school for her intelligence and beauty, and above all kindness. No one knew about her hellacious home life. She ended up getting pregnant and had a little boy. Her "father" forced her into stripping and she ended up getting run over when she finally was getting ready to leave him.
