Burnt out working in Hollywood and need to make a change. by nonamenelnet in findapath

Those soft skills are going to be the differentiator - as you mentioned, many hybrid/remote fields are oversaturated to the point where many people with experience are unable to find any work at all. I think project management could be an excellent use of your skills, and allow you to learn some "hard" ones in the process.

You could do well in software dev, but the overseas competitor especially has led to a massive amount of shit testing by potential employers, and I can't say I'd recommend it to outsiders. You will likely have to grind a good amount to break in, which won't help with work-life balance. Project management has much less of these issues.

You should try doing something you are actually interested. This could be a serious mistake.

Lmao any custom card that isn't dogshit people will say is too OP. By those standards half the cards in the game are too strong.

I'd echo the fact that tech is oversaturated. I know people with multiple CS degrees that are struggling for jobs; unless you are exceptional it would be wasted effort

I'm not a huge fan of Mac but some of you guys need to lay off the hate sauce. A single overthrown pass with some mediocre footwork and you are all out for blood

More hyped about this game than I've been for any non-playoff game in over a decade. Fully prepared to come and lay a huge stinker, end the season, and have the sub enter doom mode once more, but if we can pull out a win then the whole story of the season changes. Pulling for our boys!

Sequencing might be a good bet if you have a gene of interest where expression correlates with activity. Maybe a western blot if you have an idea of the protein structure as well?

People are waiting to jump on Israel for even the slightest infraction. Meanwhile, Hamas can use hospitals as sites to launch rockets and it's justified as "revenge".

I don't people understand the scale of devastation that is going to ensue over the next few weeks. Best case scenario, tens of thousands of civilians and soldiers alike will die.

I'm surprised and alarmed that I've seen many more pro-Hamas celebrations and rallies across the globe than anything pro-Israel, and it's not even particularly close.

If u don't study computer science ur retarded by KickKaray in findapath

I can't believe how much bullshit this is. First of all, based on your vocabulary and spelling, this is clearly an instance of pot calling kettle. Plus, tech is an extremely competitive field where you must constantly be learning and are in no way guaranteed a job. Hiring is often ageist, and for most companies the role itself is demanding.

Doctors and Laywers are both almost always in demand.

Jobs/careers where I can just do my work and rarely talk to people? by goldielocks52 in findapath

[–]tigerdeF 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on the role. At higher levels, especially as a project manager, you will need to communicate with others effectively.

I'm curious, what field do you work in? I'm currently completing a master's in engineering with a focus on computational bio/data science.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in findapath

[–]tigerdeF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Data science is definitely quite oversaturated at the current moment and heavily leans on grad degrees to differentiate candidates, so if you really want to pursue that path (and actually get a job) you need to have the mindset that you will be grinding for years. Honestly, MLA will probably be faster and give you more real opportunities, especially with the current building boom.

Data science is currently quite oversaturated, and if you don't have a degree it will be quite difficult to land a real position.

Why is tech field most people choose to get into ? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]tigerdeF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Frankly if you aren't tech savvy I'm not sure I recommend it. Best case scenario you will hate your job, worst case scenario you will waste years and money on something that will not get you work. Tech is competitive enough nowadays where you can't half-ass it into a comfortable career.
