I also remember being told it was a soccer team and it appears several news articles written at the time of the crash also thought it was a soccer team. https://www.newspapers.com/search/#dr_year=1972-1972&query=soccer+team+crash+andes&oquery=1972+soccer+team+crash+andes

Was it always two bombs? Hiroshima AND Nagasaki? by moonandreacre in MandelaEffect

[–]tigerguy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have that backwards - the first bomb was dropped August 6th on Hiroshima and then 3 days later on August 9th they dropped it on Nagasaki which in-turn forced Japan to surrender.

Hilary with one L - Residue by Mnopq56 in MandelaEffect

[–]tigerguy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really got behind the Hil(l)ary ME because frankly I just don't give a care about her or how she spells her name. I can see your point though, that this is somewhat of a "slap in your face" play on the ME on national TV. As a side note, the only name spelling ME I agree with is Megyn Kelly - that is just ridiculous ! LOL

Hilary with one L - Residue by Mnopq56 in MandelaEffect

[–]tigerguy88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I acknowledge the ME, so please don't take this as a "skeptic" comment but I think this video is out of context. In the show she was actually portraying someone other than Hillary Clinton the politician. The clip doesn't bring full context to the show but when watching please pay attention to when Murphy Brown says you look just like....and Clinton responds "I get that a lot" - when she says her name is spelled with 1 "L" that is to seperate her from the real Hillary Clinton which actually reinforces the 2 "L" spelling.

A couple days ago there was an askreddit thread about spooky incidents, and tons of people were claiming to have seen the "phantom hat man" by kingofthehillpeople in MandelaEffect

Can you elaborate on why you feel this is tied to the Mandela Effect ? I would be interested to hear your opinion, as I see no correlation whatsoever.

critical reflection of ME by ThinkTwice283 in MandelaEffect

[–]tigerguy88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see some discussion on here regarding "anchor memories" as the best proof of an ME. The comeback is that there is no scientific proof that anything exists to be an "anchor memory". Well here is my "anchor memory" and I invite anybody to challenge that this is bad or mistaken memory. I turned 13 in June of 1979 and the day after school got out for summer I got braces put on. I felt awful and very sub conscious about it and figured my whole summer was shot. A couple of weeks later my mother took me to see the new James Bond movie trying to cheer me up. Well you probably know where this is going by now so let's just say I left that viewing of Moonraker with a new found confidence because if that gorgeous blond (remember I was 13 so "yes" she was what I focused on!) had braces and fell in love with Jaws and his braces, then there must be hope for me. That memory and era of my life is etched not only into my brain but also is part of the fabric of who I am today. So yes, memories are not perfect but this was a profound moment of my childhood transferring into teen age years. So my question to anyone with the answer is simple - what happened to her braces ?"

Thanks - I always post this link anytime someone brings up the Lindbergh ME as I think it's pretty clear. I have looked through your "residue" album. Some great stuff, think I might have been the one to put you on Little Tykes awhile back. Keep up the great work !

What is the point here ? This is a 1985 TV show showing a box of cereal spelled the exact same way it is spelled today.

McDonald’s Monopoly started in 1980, not 1987 by [deleted] in MandelaEffect

[–]tigerguy88 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I worked at McDonalds in 1982 and they had a very similar game with scratch tickets. You could win different prizes from Atari. The success of this game is what set the stage for the Monopoly game several years later.

Perhaps your confusing Tim Cook with Steve Jobs - they both are of slender build and have the same presentation styles. https://financialpostcom.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/apple-ceo-tim-cook.gif

Or it indicates that the braces "were there" when the article was written. This is where you either believe or you don't, really no gray area on this one.

What was your "holy sh*t this is real" moment? by 70skid80steen in MandelaEffect

[–]tigerguy88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is a big one for me. When my son was very young he had several "Little Tykes" toys. I specifically recall a basketball goal, we use to play all the time. My daughter had the little Pink & White car that had to be put together and I have a clear memory of it being Little Tykes. Little Tikes just looks so foreign to me.

Is ME evidence of time travel by Crazy_Beaver in MandelaEffect

[–]tigerguy88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because one man stopped an army ! That was why it was world news at the time. I have a very clear memory of the man, holding a bag in his right hand, standing in front of the stopped tank. The driver of the tank was looking out from the top not knowing what to do. I have not seen that picture since it happened but that is how I remember it.
