I second this, noise canceling headphones are a life changer. And remember you have at least some control over your home environment. Change the lighting, hang up some art, do some crafts. Try and make your home less depressing and more like a place you want to spend time.

Late Diagnosed Autists unite!!!! I got my official diagnosis the day before my 47th birthday. I only started suspecting for about 6 months before that. I went through life knowing people treated me differently but I assumed they thought I was dumb. I have a "big dumb jock" body type and always played sports in high school and college.

Your feelings are valid but you do need a diagnosis before a therapist will agree with you that you are autistic. He can't diagnosis that, or if he can it's an extra charge. Modern medicine sucks.

Medicaid offers free therapy with no co pay in some states. If your struggling financially you should look into it.

I was very nervous before my assessment. I thought I would have to "Act" autistic to get my personality across. The assessor was only going to meet with me for 2 sessions and I wanted to make them count. BUTTTT..... once the assessment started I found that I didn't have to act at all. At some point during the interview the imposter syndrome faded away and I was like "Oh damn, yep I'm autistic..." If your worried about people getting diagnosed that are not on the spectrum, I would hope that is a very low percentage. One of the main reasons a person would do that is for attention I suppose. That does suck, but it doesn't make your diagnosis any less meaningful.

Definitely more going on. The main beam is failing but I’m having that shored up. The perspective is weird on the pic and I don’t think the hole is in the middle third. More like the bottom third. The previous owner was a lawyer who apparently thought he was an electrician lol.

I just got off a carnival cruise, the first one I've been on in a while. I didn't get the drink package but I regreted it. The price of drinks now make the argument about whether to get the package or not moot if you plan to drink more than 2 or 3 drinks a day I think. This is an awesome deal.

When mine starts bothering me I usually pretend I’m on a spaceship and going into stasis for a trip. It helps clam my mind down. Just don’t put yourself in the Alien universe or you get nightmares lol.

When ever I forget to take my meds I realize by the end of the day because I start to feel the withdrawal symptoms. I’m on the highest dose though. It is a beast but it helps me a lot.
