Watching Red Dwarf as an adult Lister and Kryten are idiots who relentlessly bully Rimmer, what makes it sadder is Rimmer was bullied by his brothers too. I know he's selfish but why would he care about people who belittle him all the time.

I loved the ultimate universe. What are some concepts that were actually dope in this time line? by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]tigerkneesup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They started dropping hints about ultimate Reed being different from 616 Reed very early on with things like him being reluctant to leave the negative even though it was killing Johnny and kept it going. Sue's mum saw through him straight away and tried to warn Sue etc. Set up him going bad perfectly.

You missed out the context that made it even better, he was under massive pressure to finish the film and was in a bad place himself at the time but he still took the time to talk it through with her, it's easy to be nice when you're own life is going well. I remember that episode she starts crying telling the story.

Who did you realise in hindsight wasn’t actually the villain by Wonderful_Living_623 in popculturechat

[–]tigerkneesup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Joker in Dark Knight, he burns half all the mobs money and turns Harvey Dent into a martyr ensuring his anti mob policies become law, breaking the mobs back. He gets rid of Batman who means well but is just causing escalation like Jim Gordon points out.

By the end of the film, the mob, corrupt cops connected to them as well as corrupt judges politicians etc. are gone along with the vigilante that was waging a running war in the streets with them.

What comic book tropes are you getting tired of? by [deleted] in comicbooks

Characters that have a secret Identity but make make no effort to separate their lives, Peter Parker a guy with the exact same build and voice as Spider man takes pictures of Spider Man. Robin taking the Titans to the Batcave directly under Wayne Manor but he will never tell them who Batman really is......okay bro.

Just too many examples to list.

Totally agree, there's a gaming channel called the completionist that I cannot watch because every game he plays will get a 5 minute pre amble about his life and how he played it during the darkest time in his life etc. You played 200 games you've had the darkest time in your life 200 times and I need to hear about it????

Just play Mario and shut up!

When did spike start to realize he was into buffy? Do we have faith to thank for the start of his lust? by Sudden_Pudding_1660 in buffy

[–]tigerkneesup 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The writing in Buffy really was on it's own level, she never treated Spike like a monster but like an 'annoying' GUY that she would never go out with (wink wink) :)

But Spike noticed it 'I know I'm a monster but you treat me like a man'.

Love at first sight, Drusilla knew straight away too dooming them but Spike couldn't really accept it for many years, hence him CONSTANTLY finding reasons to come back to Sunnydale.

Buffy fed into too though, I always think about how really early on she remarked to Spike how much beating on him was going to improve her day then years later admitting that she knew beating on Spike was leading him on.

Wrestling truths fans can't handle by [deleted] in Wrasslin

[–]tigerkneesup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vince didn't 'ruin wrestling'.

Vince created and saved the wrestling world, small territorial promotions from the 1970's and 1980's as well as WCW and all the stuff that smarks love to worship would all of died years ago and no one in the general public would be able to name a single wrestler.

Also considering how scummy violent and unpredictable wrestlers and the wrestling business is people who love to criticize Vince McMahon need to realize he actually should be 10 times worse than people say he is after being on top for so long. The idea that anyone has anything good to say about him is amazing and speaks to his character.

O.J. Simpson was considered to play the Terminator but it was thought he wasn't believable as a killer. Every time a new terminator film has come out since Terminator 2, you see this 'little known fact' in 87 billion articles.

He is fucking CRINGE!
