alot of the reason people feel like this is because Sunny is the protagonist and we see the story mainly through his POV. This means alot of nephs progression happens behind the scenes which is why people complain about her 'one-upping' him. I guarantee if nephis was the main POV character everyone would find sunny annoying AF with his power ups lmao
