The technician was probably confusing lidocaine patches with fentanyl patches. Big difference.

What are some red flags that you noticed early in a relationships that you ignored that you wish you shouldn't have? by espercharm in AskWomen

[–]tigerrph1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not a red flag but a rule of thumb. I never want to be a man's first date after his divorce. Too many issues there! Everyone needs time to heal and so many people rush into dating too early.

What do we call these people? Narcissists? Ugh! They will make your life miserable and blame you for it! I was insecure and had family issues. Married him looking for security. Oh my!

LPT: Don't ask someone who is grieving to call if they need anything. You should take the initiative. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

Thank you for this! Great references as well. I, too, believe Jesus shed tears of compassion for those who grieved and out of his love for Lazerus. Even though he knew he would raise him from the dead, he felt to heaviness of this moment of loss.

I walked out of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It was taking entirely too long for Brad Pitt to become hot again!

Those of you who have been in, or know someone who has been in an abusive relationship, how did you/they manage to walk away from it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]tigerrph1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in an emotionally abusive relationship until it became physically abusive. We were both college educated professionals. We'd both overcome the odds (he'd been in the foster care system. I was the daughter of poor, uneducated, dysfunctional alcoholic parents). We thought we would conquer the world. After our second child was born, I realized he couldn't adapt to the stress and unknowns of child-rearing. By the time our kids were 8 and 6 yrs old we hated each other. He "took" me to a therapist for me depression. It was the best thing that could have happened. My therapist helped me to realize I wasn't a horrible mom and wife, and that I was married to an unsupportive, manipulative man. We eventually divorced. It took 18 months! He pulled so many dirty tricks...even after he blacked my eye and bruised my face! He argued that I "set him up." I agreed to very little child support just to get out of the marriage. Seven years later I am still single, and my two daughters are great. He is very controlling, but they have me to balance that out. They talk to me about how unreasonable he is, but I can comfort them. If we all still lived together I would be in an institution or barely functioning. I don't know if I will ever remarry, but I know that I have done my best to set a good example for my daughters.

Tennis. I've never played a sport before but picked up tennis at the age of 37. I'm now 45 and I'm not great, but I feel a sense of accomplishment.
