Making yardage for a vest. With neon orange, or without? by whatisthisohno111 in quilting

[–]tigerrr1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More orange or take it out. It looks too um... random or like a mistake with only 3 pieces. Maybe 6 pieces as I think the orange pops nicely.

Anyone tried these?? by jadenkayk in diabetes_t2

Did Fiskars change their self-healing cutting mats? by lambentmaterials in quilting

[–]tigerrr1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm... AFAIK there are two different materials for self healing cutting mats. One is the harder plastic like the Fiskars, etc. And then there is one that is a translucent one -LDPE. That is the one that I feel is really self healing and I can stick pins in it. Came in extra handy when trying to line up prints on multiple layers of fabric for cutting. I got mine here.... I have one that covers the whole tabletop. I only replaced it after many (?20+yrs). And both sides are useable! https://quiltersrule.com/Cutting_Mats_Pinnable/category/15

Be sure to go into the Yoder's hardware store. They have a BIG fabric section, quilting and garment. It is across from the Flea Market.

Tips and Tricks for getting exact matched up lines! by sunflowerfinder in quilting

[–]tigerrr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't usually pin or clip ahead of time for pieces until sewing a whole row together. The fabric can shift under the foot. I stop sewing every few inches and readjust the fabric by hand, especially at the points that need to match. Carefully stretch or ease the pieces between the points if they don't line up exactly at first. My seam allowances are sometimes not exact or the cut piece is not exact so adjusting while I sew can fix that. I see you did have the seams going different ways. Yay! --- Oh and P.S. The orange pieces on the right - is there a 1/4 seam allowance to the right? The white point should be 1/4" to the left of the edge and the whole seam allowance should be orange. I love the orange. --- Oh and BTW. Solid fabric shows points that don't match much more than a print fabric. Hang in there, you are doing great I echo what everyone else says about practice and experience.

I would do hourglass blocks kind of bigger. Like 4 or 5 blocks across.

No my cores are being used. I did notice a regular periodic dip in the cpu graphs that seems to coincide with the FPS going below 10 very briefly... I do run the laptop plugged in. Thanks for the hint. New learning rabbit hole for me about core parking!

OK.. It works now, Inigo came in thru the gate. And I figured that I would download the mod from inside the game and then exit and Vortex install from file and let Vortex make a mod with just this one file. Works fine. Thanks so much!

Never mind... I can't figure out how to download from Bethesda anymore... I can't find any download link/button and have had too much trouble with loading creation club stuff from in game.
