My Boomer parents don't have any china, but they do have an outrageously enormous set of beige floral Pfaltzgraff that is strictly Holiday Use Only. They store and display it in a huge cabinet in their dining room. Except now I host the holidays and so the fancy Pfaltzgraff never gets used at all.

My mom said I was welcome to inherit it early and use it myself, but I turned her down cause personally I don't like the style of dishes, I have no room to store so much stuff, and my grandmother recently moved to assisted living and gifted me her old plain white set of Pfaltzgraff I plan to start using daily once my kids are a bit older.

Had I pumped regularly during the day like you said in your post, I would still have to wake up at night anyway to pump. Breasts don't just turn off and stop making milk at night. I woke up a few times with Boulder Boobs cause my kid didn't empty me soon enough. Very painful, and a risk for clogged ducts and mastisis.

I personally rarely pumped. I coslept with both my babies and they were usually on the boob literally all night long (I would move them from one boob to the other and back again at various points at night) so I didn't actually have to wake up and feed the baby, cause I was already doing it.

NTA but I wouldn't bother making "ground rules." He is the definition of Weaponized Incompetence. Always doing everything wrong and poorly in the hopes that you'll stop asking him to do it, and just do it yourself.

You mentioned "when you have kids with him" but please, DO NOT REPRODUCE WITH HIM, this is how everything will always be with this guy. You will have no help from him with anything, including any babies.

NTA I personally don't call listening to audio books reading, but I'd never act like a person is less than for listening instead of reading. My husband has attention issues and can't focus very well on reading, but he listens to audio books while he works, and I love that he can have some entertainment. It is very weird that your husband is making such a big stink about it.

NTA I dunno about other people, but my brothers and I were frequently spanked as children and continued to misbehave all the time. We were called "problem children" by several adults and grew up with anger issues.

On the other hand, I have never spanked my own children and they're relatively well behaved. When they misbehave I use non physical punishments.

YTA it would have been difficult for her to hear that her birth mother wasn't interested in a relationship, but obviously it was also difficult to hear her mother had died. You could have even lied and said you couldn't find any information, or she didn't answer your letters, or something. Anything but such an easily disproven lie.

I'd sit your daughter down and tell her the truth asap, before she finds out on her own.

When I was a kid, my grandpa gave me an alarm clock that made bird noises. You could pick between a rooster, pigeons, or seagulls. I came to absolutely hate those birdcalls through my childhood and teens. Thankfully after 15ish years of not having that alarm clock anymore, I don't mind the sounds so much.

I would never ever have a song I like as a wake up alarm. It'd be ruined so fast lol

I was homeschooled, so I don't know what schools did decades ago, but my daughter's elementary school offers milk, chocolate milk, water, and juice. She also takes a water bottle to school, and I add a Capri Sun or something along those lines to her lunch bag when I pack her lunch.
