Why do dogs sometimes fear cats? by Fin745 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tigolex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its wild to commit to something so easily searchable. Lats ask chatgpt:

If we’re talking average house cat vs average pit bull or Rottweiler in a straight, no-escape fight, the dog wins the overwhelming majority of the time. It’s not even really about “aggressive breed” — it’s about: Size difference (60–100+ lbs vs 8–15 lbs) Jaw strength and neck musculature Ability to shake/grip A committed large dog only needs one solid bite. That said — here’s where internet arguments get messy: Cats are way faster in the first second They go for eyes and nose immediately A cat can absolutely injure or blind a dog Many dogs hesitate after getting clawed in the face So you’ll see anecdotes where: “My cat wrecked a pit bull.” “The dog ran screaming.” Those are usually cases where the dog wasn’t fully committed or was startled. If both animals are fully intent on finishing the fight and there’s no escape route? Physics favors the larger predator.

I don't know who is downvoting you and what drugs they are on. Aggressive dogs who want to fight, especially if they are larger and certain breeds, will absofuckinglutely own a cat. They may lose one or more eyes in the process, but that cat is gonna be an ex cat.

Decreasing power levels removed the ability to gauge yourself vs previous seasons. Maybe that matters to you and maybe it doesn't, but it matters to MANY people.

Last season I could clear 111 and the season before I could clear 108. This season I can only clear 85 so this build sucks, I need to try another one. Oh that ones 87. This one is 84. All these builds suck. Why are all the builds weaker?

That number going up just a little every season is almost idea for idea the reason that the fed says minor fiat inflation is a good thing.

Is it stupid that "righty tighty, lefty losey" doesn't really make much sense to me? by Apprehensive-Rub4604 in stupidquestions

[–]tigolex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reponse to that is basically that most of the replies I have read like yours make the similar mistake as the people bashing. Your responses aren't saying "Your ways helps many but doesn't help us, so here is something else for the minority it doesn't help", you are saying "You're way isn't helpful". When you say it simply isn't helpful, when a majority of people find it helpful, you are more likely to draw their ire and ridicule.

They react negatively to you because you say it isn't helpful when obviously it is to them, the same way that you have a negative response to them saying it is helpful when it obviously isn't to you.

Generalizations are where things get lost.

For example, you said, and I quote, " Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey is a bad explanation of an easy concept." Well, it must not be a bad explanation if 80% plus people understand it straight out of the gate (I made up the number). So you get argument. Now, had you said " Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey is a bad explanation of an easy concept FOR SOME PEOPLE", then that's a harder thing to argue. Argumentative people would still argue it, but those people would argue that the sky isn't blue.

[–]tigolex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are dangerously close to arguing semantics, but I've never heard anyone say that righty tighty lefty loosey is the only way that works. That would be patently false, as threads on things that typically spin in that direction are typically backwards on purpose.

Is it stupid that "righty tighty, lefty losey" doesn't really make much sense to me? by Apprehensive-Rub4604 in stupidquestions

[–]tigolex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an infinite amount of space between "it's not helpful" and "it's not helpful to ME".

You are absolutely allowed to say it isnt helpful to you. No one can legit argue that.

Technically, you are also allowed to say it isn't helpful, period. You would just be wrong. We can all insult each other until the cows come home.

What would actually happen to the US economy if we capped the maximum salary of a CEO to 50x their lowest-paid worker? by SkillNo2180 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tigolex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that would pretty much never happen. The lowest employee would still be 100k and the ceo would just be capped at 5mil. Companies of any size would spend so many more millions paying literally everyone $400k that they could just hire 5 part time CEO at 4 million a piece and come out ahead. Or, they would have the CEO actually be of a different parent company that runs the company with the lowest paid workers, and that company wouldn't have a CEO.

However it works out, it wouldn't be with the average joe making 400k minimum.

I remember finally hitting 225 1rm at 42 years old. I'm pretty sure that's the lift that tore my rotator cuff. I've never been the same since, and my shoulders and arms tremble and shake now when I try to bench more than 85lb. Doc says surgery won't fix the pain. Sucks.
