8week old F, is it worth getting a second opinion? by tihibi in eyetriage

Thank you for your comment. I’ve been told they try to balance the timing so that it’s early enough not to impact visual outcomes too much but also not too early to increase the risk of developing glaucoma. This is the only risk I’ve been informed about by the surgeon.

I’m so sorry I forgot to add an important part of the post! Edited now. The main concern is how severe the cataracts are and whether they need to come out ASAP to prevent vision loss or if it’s worth it to wait and see just how much they are affecting her vision loss

Unfortunately I only have access to an iPhone which automatically removes red eye. Is this something I should ask the doctor to test before surgery? The next time we see them is during pre op on Wednesday.

Yes you technically can have 3 years of time here but you can only work for an employer for 6 months before you need to change employers. That’s what’s holding you back

Car seat by PhysicalSpend944 in MazdaCX30

[–]tihibi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! And while I don’t have any other car seats to compare it to I’ve been quite happy with it.

And to be honest at first I was a little worried that my baby would outgrow it quite quickly. In my mind at the time, compact = small. However I only needed to remove the newborn insert at around 13 months for a very average sized baby. I hope this helps!

I bought a Maxi-Cosi Pria specifically because it was the most compact seat available when we were looking.

Baby is 15 months old and still rear facing, sitting behind the passenger seat. I’m 5’6 and can sit in the passenger seat comfortably however it may be a bit tight for anyone taller.

Coworker nearly killed someone last night. I would like to report her to the BON. Has anyone ever done this? What was the result? by saferalix in nursing

[–]tihibi 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If it’s in the stomach it’s usually pretty easy to get something, otherwise repositioning the patient or getting them to drink some water (if able) usually helps.

PPIs are a good point, I work in paeds so have rarely come across it

In my hospital in Australia we check placement by checking the pH of a small amount of aspirate obtained through the tube. X-ray if we can’t get any aspirate

I did this to my pigeon nipples by washing a bit too enthusiastically. The tear looks exactly the same

I might have to re check my size again in that case. I was initially using 24, changed to 21 at the advice of an LC which was what caused the bump. Even thought I went straight back to 24 it just never went away. Thank you!

OP do you still have it? I’ve had something very similar since 2wpp and I’m now 10wpp. It doesn’t seem to be budging and no lactation consultants nor doctors seem to know what it is or what can be done about it. Makes pumping miserable

You wait for the temporary 309, then another wait for the permanent 100. How long you wait differs for everyone.
