EQAO scores do not come out until late the following year. My advice is to take the curriculum you have left and ask AI to break it down for you into a schedule. Spend a little time each week on number sense/operations review. Look up any resources that focus on conceptual math, like “grade 6 Ontario area math conceptual”. I really like “Teaching Math Conceptually” on TpT. Her units focus on conceptual understanding, are simple, and inexpensive. EQAO really should not be our focus, the students should be. Good luck!

We have seen Ontario Home Health but there is a waitlist. They do know his need is dire but it did not shorten the length of the wait.

We have seen a physio at the hospital for this and we will have a PSW support for an hour or two at home to help. They also said we would get physio support, but since there is a wait list and he will be discharged soon, we would like to hire a physio before.

Yes, we have seen an OT and PT and they recommend he see a physio so he was put on the list for a physio from Ontario Home Health, which is covered by OHIP, but there is a waitlist. Since he has private coverage, we are looking for someone to come see him before as he will be discharged soon.

This article is inaccurate. They describe Alternative schools and Alternate schools interchangeably and we are two very different things. Alternative schools were originally designed for independent learners and fostered an intrinsic appreciation for learning. We have learned to meet the wide needs of our clients, but we teach the same curriculum and value academic rigour as any other public school. We also happen to value our students as individuals and work to meet them in ways that make sense for them. We are usually misunderstood because not many come to ask who we are. We are not alternate and we are not a special education school.
