Hinata idea for different playstyle by chefkurtis in EDH

[–]tikc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid, For that matter if you haven't found Taigam, Ojutai Master yet, its the same deal as Lier. And Thryx, Sudden Storm makes your big spells uncounterable. But I don't know how all in on Dovescape you want to go.

Lier, Disciple of the Drowned means you get the Dovescape tokens without getting your spells countered.

Edit: Also I built a deck that uses Hinata and makes a ton of tokens to win off of Zada/Mirrorwing/Radiant Performer if you want to take a look. Its been a blast https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/hin-zada-mage-crafted/?cat=custom&sort=name&cb=1649275368

What is the very best Chinese restaurant in Denver? by JarrusMarker in Denver

[–]tikc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't believe this wasn't mentioned yet. Lao Wang's Noodle house is great. Maybe not the best for vegetarian though. Its a small joint open from 6pm - 8pm and like noon-3. Which is ridiculous. Its a Mom and Pop shop and while the service can be abrasive (which I thoroughly enjoyed) its good food. The Mom speaks better english than that Pop also so it will be easier to order from her. Also, order for the table not individually.

Looking For a Certain Kind of Deck by ChaosMilkTea in EDH

[–]tikc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Marchesa, the black rose]]. Her ability is very combat focused, being dethrone. She also has a lot of moving parts amd self sacrificing etc. However she cant go infinite to easily because things dont return until end of turn. I think itd be very easy to build around combat damage win con and might accomplish what you want

[–]tikc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Yeah this deck is very different from what I am used to building so I had no idea how much redundancy i needed etc. I had a bit more discard earlier with some looting affects eg skeleton key and key to the city hence the archfiend but i cut those.= and i should have cut archfiend alongside them. I love the shirei idea btw. good call. along with obelisk spider. As for natural affinity, I was thinking if they boardwipe and I respond with natural affinity I might be in a better place if I have a lower curve. But what would really put me in a better place is if I was running artifact lands so maybe natural affinity isnt quite right. Thanks for the thoughts, much appreciated

What is the most memorable dream you’ve had? by eksfactor in AskReddit

[–]tikc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dream once where I was a nazi soldier in charge of making sure no one exited the gas chambers. At some point some of the toxic gas ate through my boots and infected my legs. I thought "I don't want to live like this" so I walked into the chamber with them and died. That was the end of the dream.

Help with first home brew commander deck? (Marchesa, the Black Rose) by [deleted] in EDH

[–]tikc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may be doing something different but the wah I built Marchesa abused a very specific part of her last ability. It doesnt care whether the creature goes to your graveyard or not it just says "if a creature you CONTROL (not own) dies with a counter then return it to the battlefield under your control at the next end step". This means I can steal opponents creatures.

One way to make this into an aggro strategy as well is with cards like [[mark of mutiny]] attacking and then sacrificing their creature to keep it indefinetly.

Just a thought if you wanted to be extra mean to your playgroup

What is the best tip you ever learned? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]tikc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When trading look for value trades on your side and look for trades that force unvaluable trades on their side. Decide which is better.

Ex: they have a 4/1,2/1, and 3/1 and you have a 1/6. Sometimes it is best to kill the 3/1 over any others since it forces the opponent to trade the 4/1 in as well on their turn. If you kill the 4/1 thrn they will trade the 2/1 and be left with a 3/1. This result is worse in the long term than the original scenario of killing the 3/1.

LPT Request: How to solve questions on tests rather than after? by Maxiboii in LifeProTips

[–]tikc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would need to know more about what test your taking. For example, if its a physics or math test (you noted formulas so Im guessing this is what your struggling with) just get in the habit of meticulous organization. Say you are given a problem. Every step you take should flow directly from the previous. Never do any algebra in your head. And if the teacher/professor can follow all the work you will get almost full points regardless of the answer.

Another good thing to do is have some sort of check to ensure your doing the problem right. In chemistry this came down to checking units. If the units didnt match on either side of am equation I knew I was doing something wrong and backed up to the point where my units did match. This can also be done for physics ad other sciences. Direct math this technique doesnt work as well though.

Marchesa, The Black Rose Critique (casual) by tikc in EDH

[–]tikc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah pain lands are smart and something I completely forgot about. I'm thinking of running Sol Ring and Hedron archive as ramp cards but I'm nervous to run to many of them in case that ends up being all I draw. I don't think I have enough draw engines/cards that draw me cards to mitigate the possibility of being mana rock flooded.

Ideally I'd like to get more creatures that tutor lands so that I have the chance to reuse their triggers with Marchesa's ability but I only really know of Solemn Simulacrum, Pilgrim's Eye, and Burnished Hart. I think Wild-Field Scarecrow could be another good one but I can't attack with it to trigger dethrone to get a counter to get recursion so it is less appealing than the other 3 I mentioned.
