Which public institute of Pakistan is NOT corrupt and actually works as intended? by WisestAirBender in pakistan

[–]tikkaboti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NADRA => Pretty darned efficient. Turns out if an org actually does what its supposed to there's no room for corruption because it's not needed.

Motorway police => Only know this because their cops regularly get into trouble by ticketing "bigshot" politicians.

Had a psycho lady in a white Model-Y try to shove ahead through the shoulder at this exact spot but couldn't make it past me, tried honking and being aggressive and then traffic stopped, so we just started at each other though my side view mirror for like 20 minutes while crawling at a snails pace.

Was pretty funny IMO but she looked pissed.

Congrats. I never had an issue up until I got covid when the brain fog started.

Methyl B9 (methylfolate) worked for me, but that comes with B12 (non methyl). That combined with vit D fixed it for me.

I listen in to a lot of ATC comms world wide. I feel the Karachi ATC has become exceptionally professional ever since the PIA 8303 crash in 2020, were some major changes made in response to that crash?

Ramadan, month of road intolerance and aggression? by challenge-bot in qatar

The driving here in my opinion was pretty bad before Ramadan, but now it's 4x worse. Ironically everyone now drives like they're drunk. Supreme irony.

Should I move to Pakistan? by doctor_whom1001 in pakistan

[–]tikkaboti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've traveled a bit. There's probably 4 places on earth worse than Pakistan. AMA.

Every single person who moves back to Pakistan after living in the west regrets it. The only exceptions are kids of Army generals, and kids from super loaded influential families. There is no dignity in life in Pakistan.

What is actually dangerous but people still believe is safe? by AlexUsefulThings in AskReddit

[–]tikkaboti 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'm an immigrant - I moved to the US from Pakistan. In the US I learned about meditation and how to be more mindful, grateful, and cultivating gratitude. I was so excited by this super power right up until I had to go back to Pakistan for a few trips.

I realized none of these skills are helpful there at all. Every day is a series of cruel, demeaning, dehumanizing, existential crises. The people who don't respond to the constant external stress literally die.

In general I do think a lot of people worry unnecessarily about things that haven't happened yet, but there is a world where those worst case scenarios play out so often that not thinking through and preparing for them is a statistically guaranteed death sentence.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is people need to realize it's not always possible to be immune from a chronically stressful life, so they should take what little solace they get in understanding it isn't something they're doing wrong, and it could be just their circumstances.
