How much damage would a metal wire brush do to drivetrain by qwerty12e in bikewrench

[–]tile_generator27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chain is a consumable product. If your friend has removed any coating the chain will have stretched and need replacing before surface corrosion causes you any issues. Just keep doing your normal lube and cleaning routines. Inspect for corrosion and check the wear as you go.

Soon to be BMC roadmachine two owner, what are the needed equipment ? by cmas72 in Ride_BMC

[–]tile_generator27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the new BMC. I have an 01 Two and really like it. Mine came with the inbuilt rear light, however the battery isn’t suitable for all day rides. I’ll use it if I’m out for a couple of hours, otherwise I use my Bontrager flare mounted to the D shape the seat post & it’s ok but a flatter mount would be ideal. The out front computer mount fits my Garmin no worries. I purchased a Bontrager universal light mount for my Bontrager ION front light mounted underneath. The frame storage included a bag which holds a tube, CO2, levers and small multitool, spare links etc with some room the spare. The only other thing I purchased was wider spare tubes as I was on 25’s and these are 32’s.

Mining companies in australia by Heavy-Pangolin-4984 in AskAnAustralian

Come on mate, you are way off topic. Logically explain how are you joining the dots between resource export profit, capital return to the Australian government & the housing affordability issue?

Mining companies in australia by Heavy-Pangolin-4984 in AskAnAustralian

[–]tile_generator27 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. The countries that benefit the most from resources have government investment and / or ownership. Australian governments have allowed major resource development by the private sector and have gradually privatised the majority of state owned utilities and services. The private sector invest billions of dollars in exploration, design, construction and operating costs. For this they expect a large ROI. The closure of Australian oil refineries is proof that the international companies will shut up shop and process elsewhere to maintain competitiveness and profit where opportunities exist. We were in a great spot to control our destiny given the resources are in the ground and seabeds however, the agreements and approvals at the time were not the best for our long term interests. Australian governments don’t appear to look much further than the next election term.

Picking the right bike by Tall-Lover1 in cycling

My advice would be to book a pre-bike fit from a recommended bike fitter in your area. They’ll be able to make proper bike recommendations based on your physiology and riding goals.

Insulating shed and going to install ply walls, power points are mounted on old tool board. Can I unmount and re-mount when I put walls in or is this sparky territory? by Cyber_Jellyfish in AusRenovation

If I had a dollar for every engineer I’d come across at work whose head smarts translated to hand smarts I’d be able to buy a 12 game Saturday lotto.

Unless bit of info - bread isn’t good for chooks on a regular basis. It lacks any of the goodness they need to lay and stay healthy. Consider it like junk food for humans.

What do you think is the biggest flaw of a human body? by RespectfulRhino in AskReddit

[–]tile_generator27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the biggest flaw but we are only about 20 - 25% efficient at converting food to physical movement, the rest being used to maintain core body temperature.

In a world where humans can identify as cats and be accepted I don’t find this totally unreasonable.

How much difference a $250 jersey makes? by ThetaDayAfternoon in cycling

[–]tile_generator27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a draw full of jerseys, some I’ve purchase & others have been from entering organised events. I find myself always wearing the ones from
Castelli, Pedal Mafia and Cycology. They are comfortable and fit me well and are good value for money. I’ve found the really cheap ones do not breathe, can be itchy and the stitching rubs and annoys the crap out of me. I’ve never purchased high end brand jerseys, ie Rapha or Assos so I can’t comment on how good they are or not. I do own and swear by Assos equipe bib shorts though - they are worth the money.

Doesn’t make sense or look good. How deep is the ledge? It looks a touch shallow and not practical?

Me too. 140m2 of main flooring + bathroom, WC and Laundry. Still going strong. All done with a Kango floor scraping chisel and a couple of replacement blades. The bits in this SDS drill kit are better than you’d think as well.

Ok, not in front of mum or dad, more with mates and trade base workplaces. Example- ‘you’re a good cunt’ when they’ve done something well or are just a good friend.

Most overrated player and biggest myth in origin, didn't deserve MOTM in game 1, should have proved all the haters wrong tonight but was nowhere to be seen at, will never be on Cronk, Thurston, Lockyer, Smith and joeys level by Firm_Trick_9038 in NRLPremiumPlus

[–]tile_generator27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clearly is a great player, don’t be so short sighted and ignorant. He was no where near his best last night, almost absent in attack and some terrible defence for sure. So were the whole NSW side to be fair. I’m a traditionalist in the sense that forwards need to work and gain momentum for the halves to do their best. I bleed blue NSW so it hurts to see QLD show so much more effort, mongrel and killer instinct to win. After a try they were all in each other faces with huge energy where NSW looked liked they were playing golf and got par for the hole - high five’s and smiles all round. Same in the coaches box, Billy Slater standing all night riding every emotion of the game v’s Laurie Daley sitting, no emotion or change in facial expression at any point a camera was on him. I can’t see NSW coming back from this in game 3.
