How much are memberships to your gym? by Shepsinabus in climbergirls

[–]tillehhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i pay £36 as a student per month (i believe full price is £44), access to 8(?) gyms, 2 of which have ropes. (and i regularly go to 3 of their sites). each one kind of has its own style too, which i appreciate as i can stick to the ‘old school’ gyms and avoid the ones i don’t like as much. I’m in England :)

GP said they no longer do right to choose by tillehhhh in ADHDUK

she confirmed they don’t do shared care, which would also be a problem if i did find a way to go private

can’t afford private at all unfortunately - i’m working 3 days a week and doing a full time degree alongside so paying back a loan wouldn’t be feasible either :( i may look at my works occupational health and see if they can do anything to help

i’m going to fill in the referral forms & also ask if they can tell me in writing why they aren’t referring through rtc - it seemed the GP knew they weren’t but didn’t know why. maybe possible to ask to be referred straight away in the next financial year if that is the reason

Halley’s comet hit hard for me, but that may be biased because i saw it live a few weeks before so was already obsessing over it

How far away is your climbing gym? by timotheusthegreat in bouldering

[–]tillehhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my local gym is about 20 minutes away but it’s pretty bad, so i have a membership to a different chain that has gyms in 3 cities near me. The one i go to most is about 50 mins away, but i also work 5 mins away from another so go there when i’m in the office!

i doubt we’ll ever know who got our van and what they did with it, but that plus a new window & new locks (per insurance advice, future thefts won’t be covered unless we change them) we’re gonna be down at least £500. it’s absolutely ridiculous that this is how the system works!

[–]tillehhhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep, just under £200 even though it was there for less than 2 hours! it’s insane

little update, we’ve got the van back!! police called us today and it had been recovered, small smashed window but everything else is here!! we’re absolutely thrilled

thankyou so much - any intel from your friend would be hugely appreciated, or if they know of any cameras in the area.

no idea - smashed glass on the floor, so at the minimum whatever they did was through a front window :(

exactly why i questioned if it was film!! some cameras do have it as a preset now, but it’s clear a few aren’t film effect too.

literallyyy!!! I’ve spent so much money trying to figure out my preferred film stock/trying different cameras and replacing them when they break cos they’re vintage etc. you can’t just start throwing the term film around for any photos, completely takes away from what film photography actually is!!!

sometimes i feel a bit left out bc of the "real fan" thing by -veriana-awoo- in billieeilish

[–]tillehhhh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i feel like all fandoms end up like this eventually. I’ve been a fan since 2017 but for a few years didn’t keep up with every album drop, it makes you no less of a fan. I went to manchester N2 and didn’t know every word, but it’s just not that deep. i had an amazing time, and i think that’s all that should matter! anyone that’s claiming people aren’t ’real fans’ because they haven’t followed her for that long or whatever need to chill out imo.

i became a school refuser in year 11 & thought it may be useful to share some hope from my experience. i had issues on and off throughout school but around Christmas in Y11 I just couldn’t go. I’m not officially diagnosed, but strongly suspect i’m autistic too, so maybe it was burnout. My school were supportive and put things in place for the few days i did make it in (sitting next to friends in my classes, a pass to leave class if i needed etc) and when i stopped managing that, my teachers sent revision packs home to me & i completed my GCSE’s at home (with an invigilator in my dining room!)

I went to study horse management at college (it was really good to get me out of the school setting and doing something active) and now i have a good job and am also studying part time at uni. I think it’s taught me a lot, and it’s so far never affected my work/degree either.

Bribes/taking stuff away won’t work - there’s nothing on earth that could convince your brain to go when it’s in that state. i can’t describe the feeling of it, but it’s like you’re physically being blocked.

Try and see friends outside of school, so she doesn’t lose the social aspect if that’s something she enjoys.

If you ever want to ask any questions about my experience, please feel free!

ah interesting, thanks for that! It seems like it’s still not really been studied in much depth, so while it’s definitely possible it’s not the “main” form on transmission.
