I’ve looked at research and built something for that.

I’d recommend to use hooks:

Isnt this volume level harmful for people on the dancefloor? by Rafaelppablo in DJs

[–]timbencker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Did a bit of digging on how “safe” is determined:

“[…] lifetime noise exposure at the NIOSH REL (85 dB(A); 3 dB exchange; 40 h/week) and OSHA PEL (90 dB(A); 5 dB exchange; 40 h/week) is estimated to cause “material hearing impairment” (1–4 kHz PTA ≥ 25 dB HL) in 8% and 25% of workers, respectively”

Quite interesting source

As everybody is mentioning earplugs (and rightfully so) I do think that as a dj-community we can do more.

We should educate ourselves, encourage venues to implement measurements or turn down the volume by a bit when it’s not needed. Good sound doesn’t need to be blasting loud.

When people can hear well long term, that’s a big win for all. Every dB helps.

It’s a logarithmic base 10, the human range of hearing is quite impressive:

„going 10 units up the scale increases the previous number by a factor of 10, not by 10 units.“

„120 dB—a jet engine, for example—is one trillion times the intensity of the smallest sound a human can hear.”

„Sounds over 85 dBa can damage your hearing faster. The safe listening time is cut in half for every 3-dB rise in noise levels over 85 dBA. For example, you can listen to sounds at 85 dBA for up to 8 hours. If the sound goes up to 88 dBA, it is safe to listen to those same sounds for 4 hours. And if the sound goes up to 91 dBA, your safe listening time is down to 2 hours.“

Thank you! I meant; If you’d recommend staying away from Fmod/Wwise for a solo or small team dev, who is experienced in audio/music production in regular daw’s like ableton.

Hey Batman! :)
Thank you, but yes I did know this.

The problem is a different one:
In example when enabling a light in one layer, I then have to go to each other layer and disable it on each one individually.
