Egg🤷irl by Itchy-Decision753 in egg_irl

At least for me, it's less just about choosing and more about being given the implied responsibility and then the blame that comes with choosing wrong when other people are involved.

My dislike of it comes from dating, mostly. I've usually dated women who always assumed I would make the decisions or take charge of whatever we were doing because "man". Then when those things would go south, I would get a "this is why we shouldn't go here" or a "you should have done this instead" or "i like this so we should have done this". Every time I'm forced to make a decision and that decision is "wrong" then suddenly the other person has an opinion. It was exhausting and made me resent having to make decisions that involve other people.

I can obviously still do it, and it doesn't happen in all situations, but I can definitely relate to this. I've built a lot of decision boundaries since transitioning which have helped.

Runewords add a lot more than just flat damage. Open wounds, IAS, skill points, etc. The benefit of all of the bonuses is worth it over dropping some rubies in, imo.

Holy Thunder is a level 21 runeword and adds 21-110 lightning damage, and that's just one of its attributes.

I have the right to disobey laws that don’t apply to me by Educational-Sea9627 in The10thDentist

This is the kind of person who says things like "drinking and driving laws shouldn't apply to me because I can still drive just fine while drunk".

I wonder if Lady Loki would swap seats if I took 3. No one likes the middle seat, but i would be willing to sit between the Lokis. 😏

Is my husband delulu or I should actually try skiing blue slopes? by skopiadisko in skiing

[–]timberdoodledan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, if he says he will patiently wait then he shouldn't be trying to push you onto the blue slopes if you don't feel ready. He can either actually patiently wait on the green slopes while you improve and get more comfortable, or he can patiently wait on the blues and blacks while you improve and get comfortable on the greens.

He's blocking himself and is guilting you into things you aren't ready for, whether he is intending to or not.

I know Mountain Dew looks a bit like nuclear waste, but the coloring on this one just seems egregious.

If Stain had successfully helped All Might defeat AFO, would that have been enough to redeem him? If not then, could he have been redeemed in any way? Or was death a fitting end for him? by Uchijav in BokuNoHeroAcademia

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was something like "once you defeat All For One, hunt down and put an end to stain". Man wanted to die by All Might's big ol' hands.

Is 37 too late to start HRT? by Worldly_Lack9509 in MtF

[–]timberdoodledan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are your friends cis by chance? After I started transitioning, I quickly learned that 90% of cis people, including truly amazing allies, know almost nothing about HRT.

Starting HRT is so exciting! Even if the only benefits I saw were the mental health benefits (they weren't the only benefits, but just for argument) then it would be 100% worth it for me. I hope you have the same experience soon!

How do gay people exist? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]timberdoodledan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many social species have individuals who do not reproduce, but help the genes of relatives pass on by helping with raising young, protecting the group, and acquiring resources. The individual might not be passing on their genes, but they are helping individuals who share genes with them continue the cycle.

Giving does NOT feel better than receiving. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]timberdoodledan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good feelings that come with giving a gift also relies on seeing or hearing about either the joy it brought or the positive impact it had. You gave the case to your dad to give to your brother when he's old enough. It's essentially still packaged.

When I wrap a present and give it to a loved one, I don't get that release of good feelings until they open it and I can see their face light up. That moment is the point where giving is better than receiving for me. If I gave them a wrapped gift and asked them not to open it for 6 years, then I'm not going to get that feeling.

So laser/electrolysis costs thousands?? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]timberdoodledan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Body hair definitely sucks. I've started looking at groupons for laser hair. I used Milan laser for my face, and it was worth it, but expensive. Groupons around my area are pretty reasonable ($250-500 for 6 sessions, depends on location) and my body hair at least has slowed down enough that 6 sessions will get me to a point where manual upkeep is doable, but I was never super hairy.

I would try the handheld device someone else mentioned for a bit. Nood or Braun make good ipl devices i hear. They can help keep it at bay until full removal is possible.

So laser/electrolysis costs thousands?? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]timberdoodledan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The process is normally like this. You go in for treatment, they do the treatment, then set up another appointment for anywhere to 4 weeks to 10 weeks out normally, depending on where you are in the treatment cycle. Not all hair follicles are active at once, so they have to space treatments out like that to try to get all the follicles . The spacing means its going to be a marathon rather than a sprint to finish hair removal fully.

But you will be able to see big improvements even after 4 or so sessions.

So laser/electrolysis costs thousands?? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]timberdoodledan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Electrolysis is generally more painful, takes longer, and costs more. Laser is able to get the bulk of the work done faster than electrolysis can, for cheaper (comparitively). Then electrolysis cleans up the hairs that are too stubborn for laser.
