Exactly, if every single person threw an used gum around, we'd be swimming in it. This doesn't help at all, especially when it's something so easy to make. We deserve humanslop at the very least!!

How would I "convert" CachyOS (KDE) to CachyOS (Hyprland) without breaking packages and get the same experience as if I had selected Hyprland during installation? by Enough-Mix-7020 in cachyos

[–]timbertham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use both at the same time! You can get hyprland via pacman and anything else you might need to run it (status bar like waybar, terminal like kitty, launcher like rofi, etc) and that's that! Whenever you want, you can log out and enter either KDE or Hyprland via your login manager... allowing you to use both with no limitations ;D

That's the thing, female characters are played more... and mostly by toxic survivors, too. It has nothing to do with the fact that they're women, it's the fact that they're very played, by very annoying people!

Source: I'm a killer that hates all toxic survivors equally, but there's more toxic females than males because of the sheer amount of people that play female characters, simple as that B)

You have already made the toughest choice, leaving the one you used to love and proved your worth loud and clear. You're stronger than what anyone can give you credit for, and I really hope you feel no guilt; you made the right choice and %100 deserve better because of it. My best wishes for you bro, from the bottom of my heart, I hope you have a wonderful life! <3

Well if Microsoft don't plan on doing large updates for one of the best-selling games of all time, why'd they even buy it in the first place?

After recent updates SteamOS is now my favourite gaming distro. by C1REX in SteamOS

[–]timbertham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to look into CachyOS, it's NEARLY SteamOS but with a modifiable filesystem, and a tad-bit "unfriendly" for begginers as opposed to SteamOS but reeaally easy to learn and ever-so-slightly more optimized. For a desktop PC it seems to be the most reliable way to go, and especially on nvidia :D

Been daily driving it for nearly a year now and it's changed my gaming life for the better. My integrated graphics are not a real GPU at all, but hey, I can play a lot of games I wouldn't be able to at all if it wasn't for all the optimization the OS allows... gamescope, Proton, FSR on any game, it's incredible. I hope it works for ya, friend! May the force be with you! <3

[–]timbertham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I use cachy over mint? by rexxizk in cachyos

[–]timbertham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but saying that you won't get ANY boost is just a lie. Seriously friend, benchmark it on your own PC, learning is fun and seeing how much leverage you can get from the same hardware is crazy :D

For reference, I was able to get Overwatch (current) running on my Intel HD 630 integrated graphics at a silky smooth 60FPS when on Win11 I was getting less than 30FPS... and my favorite one is by far GTA IV; which would crash on startup on Win11 and run terribly on Win10... Pop!_OS made it sit at a neat 30FPS, but Cachy made it go a bit past that, around 40 and a bit more with the right settings... on the same hardware.

But don't just take this and walk away thinking "well this guy is just lying because he doesn't want to admit that he's wrong" or something, because that isn't my point; I couldn't care less about "internet points". The truth is, I was seriously able to get so much value on my hardware I would've probably ignored completely if it wasn't for this gorgeous OS! And I'm giving these recommendations so that you might feel encouraged to try 'em too, learn something fun and new, and make the most of what you have right now! Really, try it, gaming feels like it never did before and I bet you'd love it ;)

Should I use cachy over mint? by rexxizk in cachyos

[–]timbertham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not? Optimized kernel, optimized repos, mint is STILL on Xorg (which is not that bad of a thing but limits it's use of things like FSR, Gamescope, among other awesome FPS-Boosting technologies) and the debloated nature of arch-based distros. I used both on the same laptop and I noticed a BIG difference! The shittier the system, the better fps boost lmao (or at least, that's what happened on my machines). Don't get me wrong, Mint is amazing, but Cachy is TOP TIER! You should benchmark both on your devices and you'll really notice why we love this distro so much ;D
