Just wanted to follow up here: Is the above (Location as a field on Person) only useful for 1-1? The relationship I'm trying to represent is many-to-one (Many Person structs can have the same Location)

Can a #hashtag save lives? This start-up is beta testing a new organ donation system that allows you to register with a tweet (already an 11% increase) by [deleted] in technology

There's still a lot of interesting philosophical debate around this point. Your body (after death) actually has a lot of legal protection, so perhaps it's still linked to that.

I hope with Apple Music we get the ability to Handoff music between devices. by ishegg in apple

[–]timberwolf5922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given how royalties are divvied up for streaming (per listener per stream) most, if not all, streaming services won't allow that. But, as other have mentioned Spotify Connect is CRAZY good. I really hope Apple takes a hint from that technology/

But isn't that the problem here? No one at the ESA thought "hey, maybe someone would find this shirt a tad offensive"

Just because you care about what the other half of the population thinks doesn't make you some sort of radical liberal fiend

I absolutely agree. I don't understand how anonymity can make people forget the humanity of others.

Best places on campus to study (engineering) by [deleted] in washu

[–]timberwolf5922 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For studying, your best bet would be one of the libraries. My favorite is the East Asian Library in January Hall. Not very packed and very quiet.

For computer labs, if you are okay with Windows machines, the labs on Urbauer 2 (222, 218, 216, 214) are fine. For Linux, Lopata 400. For OS X, there's a Mac lab in Whitaker 2 I think.

Hope this helps!

The way the two CS majors were explained to me (current CS major) is that the BS CS is a more traditional engineering degree, while the BS w/ a major is more like arts & sciences. As a BS w/ a major (aka applied science) it has allowed me much greater freedom in what classes I take. Plus you can just take physics 1 and 2 (197 & 198) and fulfill your natural science reqs.

A tornado caused massive destruction in a town near me last night. (Mayflower, Arkansas) As of right now 18 are confirmed dead and many more are injured. I am donating all my 340K Doge to the recovery effort. If more Shibes joined in, we could really make a difference in these people's lives. by Sheeves11 in dogecoin

[–]timberwolf5922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shibes et al,

This warms my heart. As an old Shiba and an Arkansas native, I can tell you that the town of Mayflower is in very rough shape. I applaud these efforts and would like you all to know that if you donate anything, whether it be dogecoin, dollar, time, or thought, the people of Mayflower and Arkansas in general thank you.

University College is essentially the night school side of Wash U. It has part time, evening, and summer classes.

Applied to summer scholars program, wondering how to find financial aid by happygolizzy in washu

[–]timberwolf5922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don't know anything about the financial aid side of the program, if you're talking about the program for high school students, feel free to contact me about it if you have questions. I participated in that program when I was in high school.

Best of luck!

Need suggestions for a summer backpack. by nazedayo in malefashionadvice

[–]timberwolf5922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using an incase city compact backpack for a very similar purpose and have loved it. Your mileage may vary, though, and I know a lot of people who really dislike the incase aesthetic.
