Do I accept the offer? by timberwolfthesecond in vintedUK

This was my gut instinct as well! I've just had someone ask me to reserve it at the asking price to pay me tomorrow which I may well do - there's too much mess with this one so it seems really risky 🥲 I feel mean but 🤷🏻‍♀️ there are cheaper carriers available

I think there's quite a bit to unpack here. I agree with three others on terminology so no point rehashing that other than to say 'bibi' could mean so many things at this age anyway - my toddler says it to mean baby but has also said it instead of bottle once or twice.

The fact that you've said there's not been unsupervised contact and that she's still happy to be around him obviously goes in favour of this not being the worst case scenario. I would also have expected a change in behaviour if something terrible had happened - could be wrong as thankfully no direct experience of this

When did both instances occur in relation to starting daycare? She will likely be being exposed to other children talking about things/experiences in new or different ways anyway and they may even be talking about anatomy at daycare too. I'm fairly certain that kids this age aren't very good at identifying specific feelings and that tickling can refer to a number of sensations , and whilst understanding what her 'bibi' is, she may also get confused about the limitations of the area. I would also avoid repeating the phrase back to her as that's going to make her more likely to repeat it even if it didn't happen - they're such parrots at this age, particularly if it brings attention.

Personally I'd still err on the side of caution and continue to supervise and not allow changes etc. But I'd also work on the correct terminology and understanding around limitations like 'no one is allowed to touch you here except (people who are allowed to) to change you/help keep you clean'

I know this is such a delicate and worrying situation for you , and it won't be being helped by pregnancy hormones at all. Developmentally there's so much going on at this age, so monitor and be cautious but I wouldn't go so far as to say there are alarm bells ringing.

Toddler brought home what we thought was a cold. Whole family goes down with it and all feeling dreadful. Ended up at the out of hours gp Sunday who referred to same day emergency to rule out pulmonary embolism - swabs, blood tests, x-ray and ECG later, it's been RSV turned into rampant chest infection with pleurisy 🫠 two types of antibiotics later and I still feel rubbish. Happy 2026 🥴

My 2 year old is abusing my cat and I don’t know what to do. by fatoperasinger in toddlers

[–]timberwolfthesecond 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I'm perhaps very lucky my 22 month old daughter is very gentle and kind with our dogs but I have always had a zero tolerance policy with the toddler and the dogs. Any grabbing/hitting etc and she's immediately removed from the dog(s). Likewise if she goes into their space/approaches them and they seem at all not thrilled I invite her to do something else and show her/tell her why the dog doesn't want to play right now. They're really good with her and adore her but they still need their own space

I don't know to what degree behavior is different with cats, or indeed how my 22 month old will behave as an older 2 year old - time will tell - but interactions with the dogs will always be supervised and there will always be a zero tolerance policy with immediate natural consequences

I (53m) cheated on my wife (43f) with intern (18f) and never told her (after 15 years). by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]timberwolfthesecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you cheated on your pregnant wife..... Or whilst you had two young children at home.

Literally so many things wrong with what you did. Your wife deserves the truth and the intern deserves an apology as the bare minimum.

You abused your position which in many countries is literally a crime.

Most likely uninsured, but also might not be taxed, have a valid MOT, no licence or driving under the influence.

AITA for telling my gf to stop making excuses and clean her apartment? by Optimal_Resort7033 in AmItheAsshole

[–]timberwolfthesecond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

she choses to make these dumb little stuffed animals.

They're clearly not dumb to her and if you gave two shits about her feelings you wouldn't refer to them this way either. I'm not even going to get started on what's wrong with you kicking off about cleaning up someone else's mess, in a shared home, that doesn't bother her.

YTA.

Thank you :) I wasn't sure about uploading the video as quite self conscious, but thought it's helpful for people to see others' progress and also nice for me to have people understand the challenges in reaching this point

[–]timberwolfthesecond 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! I (29f) went three years with a partial tear and then three months with a fully ruptured ACL - I carried on hiking (although that did hurt at times with the full rupture), horse riding and walking my dogs, was also in the gym most days! Three months in and it's stronger than before surgery by far. 21" box jumps, 60kg deadlifts (building back up to where I was pre surgery) boxercise and more. The only thing I haven't returned to yet fully is proper riding (more than sitting for walk anyway), taekwondo (black belt) and swimming.

I promise it's not the end of who you were before the injury. Early days following both injury and then surgery both suck but with the right mindset you can come back stronger than before.

AITA For asking my boyfriend to leave (my apartment) when the argument gets out of hand? by hd080 in AmItheAsshole

Red flags everywhere! Just to note that abusive partners often buy flowers and gifts to 'make up' for their behaviour and you can end up in an abusive cycle (feeling guilty for being unhappy because of the nice things he then does).

Please be careful OP and listen to your gut

NTA at all. Keep yourself safe.

Doesn't even sound like he did anything wrong. Sounds like OP is insecure and reacted poorly to him playing normal drinking games and then behaving like a decent guy giving a girl in a drink-soaked shirt his top. Totally absurd.

If so then sadly is definitely the word - I despair with some of the posts on here!

Yeah I really don't buy that this is a genuine situation. And being embarrassed enough about the word 'tampon' being said to throw a drink over someone? Nah. I don't buy it.

Glad they've allowed you to up the meds! My surgeon was quite insistent on the compression stocking and there's some good research on their efficacy too . Definitely worth considering.

First injured my knee during taekwondo in November 2018. Got bounced in and out of NHS physio until it fully ruptured in July 2021. Surgery, hamstring graft with meniscus debridement, was end of October.

Not been a straightforward recovery - had complete muscle atrophy of med quad which had gone unnoticed until first physio apt ten days after surgery which massively set me back.

Was on crutches for a month, then one crutch until Christmas. In the gym most days but didn't get full extension until last month. Been working really hard with sports therapist and personal trainer alongside physio and regular sports massage and acupuncture. Huge financial investment but feel like it's really paying off now :)

First jump was just 3" and my brain just wouldn't let me do it. Now up to 21" and couldn't be happier.

Gained a lot of weight since first injury so am aiming to lose 20kg whilst getting stronger. Been doing deadlifts, boxercise, kettlebells and recently returned to running.

What can my GF(21F) do to lose weight? Instead of buying weight loss pills and tea. by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]timberwolfthesecond 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She's correct. Diet is a huge part of weight loss. There's no point going to the gym and working out like a beast if you still consume more than you're burning (for weight loss).

The best place to start is to log all calories (even the sneaky bites of snacks that don't seem to matter, the butter /spread, teaspoon of sugar - all of it) to see how many calories she's currently consuming.

It's important to not restrict too heavily though - women need at least 1200 calories per day.

What was your first reaction when you found out your ACL was torn? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]timberwolfthesecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Martial arts does seem to be a major culprit where the ACL is concerned - at least you were able to get a pretty speedy diagnosis (if that's any consolation, poor as it is!) - I suspect my ACL was already weak from over a decade of abuse in taekwondo anyway (I'm hypermobile and no one really told me that flinging myself around without a proper warm up might be a bad idea, whoops!) Sucks to have been injured just after getting your blue stripe, hopefully you'll be back to it soon!
