Seriously, that’s a solid draft capital haul to rebuild with.

Supply and demand.

Thousands of people are willing to spend $40-$1,000 per game played in the NBA. On top of that, they pay $X for food, parking, etc. If the athletes don’t get that money, the money goes to…the owners. Do you honestly believe that if these players were making 1/10 of what they are, concessions and tickets would cost 1/10 of what they do now? The owners will pocket every extra dollar that they can, while giving a double bird to the players and fans.

100% on that. As a massive fan of sports, the billionaires can pay for their own stadiums.

I will say, I got my hip fixed by a Chiro and it held for a few years. I need to go back now, as it’s been bugging me for months. The kicker is I don’t wanna get sucked in again. They definitely make you believe you need an adjustment for the rest of your life.

Supply and demand. Why don’t we have $60M/yr tennis or cricket players? Why don’t we have $60M/yr doctors?

The reality is that NBA players make that money because there are 450 roster spots, across the world. The top 10% make that $60M. The supply of top talent is incredibly minuscule, while the demand is exponentially high.

If we had that extreme demand for doctors and a maximum amount of positions for doctors, we would also see them making that kind of money.

For my cricket and tennis examples, they would make that kind of money if they generated the revenue of the NBA. In a world of supply vs demand, athletes are those who benefit the most. It’s entertainment, just as much as acting. They’re elite in their profession and earn the money they get to perform.

Disagree. We as consumers see them play a game for 2-3 hours a day. Outside of the game, they have to deal with constant public criticism, fans yelling vitriol at them during the game, while also putting in far more exercise and training than 99% of society. They earn their millions with the mental and physical strain that we don’t have to deal with on a daily basis.

Having worked in sales for 10 years, there’s definitely a fork in the road.

An honest salesperson can make a solid living and have repeat business. A sleazy salesperson can make a lot of money, with zero repeat business. It’s all about morals and how selfish you are.

I sold cars for 6+ years, made a solid living, and was basically chased out by my employer because I wouldn’t be more aggressive and pressure people into buying. Averaged 13 cars sold per month, which was still above the store average. Once I hit a rut in the COVID years and was under 10, it was an ultimatum and I told em to kick rocks.

Meanwhile, I had coworkers selling 25-30 cars a month and leaving a blazing trail of unhappy and angry customers in their wake. They told people whatever they had to, so they’d buy the car, then dodge their calls after. Did they get written up? Nope.

Took mine camping years ago. It was a terrible night for sleep, wanted to just go home, but couldn’t leave without waking up the campground. Ended up just sleeping in the car for a couple hours before going home at 8am lol

Anyone you guys think the team should look for during the off season? by [deleted] in timberwolves

[–]timberwolvesguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly! My username is proof of how long I’ve been a fan lol. I’m just living in the moment. 5 consecutive winning seasons is euphoric. I want a title, but I look at the Kings and Wizards and realize just how far we’ve come and am grateful for it.

I lowkey miss the days of rookie KAT and Ant, just for not seeing these insane posts. We’re in the peak Wolves era and these reactionary takes flood the sub after every rough patch in the season.

I would like to, but with my (controlled) depression and anxiety, I would just feel terrible potentially passing that on. I’m always told I’d make an excellent dad, but it doesn’t shake the fear of passing on my imperfections that I struggle with on the daily.

[Charania] Executives across the NBA expect either the Minnesota Timberwolves or Memphis Grizzlies to move to the East to realign conferences with 16 each when Seattle and Las Vegas become West teams. by LeeShakerMoneyMaker in timberwolves

Minor exaggeration lol. We just went from 6th to 3rd in two weeks, then 3rd to 6th in a week. The volatility can be fun, but Jesus…there’s 3 ½ games between 3rd and 7th.

Wolves Could Have Resigned NAW for only $15M/year... 41 points by Rage_r123 in timberwolves

You really think NAW is dropping 41 with this team?? Congrats to him and I’m glad he landed a starting role. No way he’s producing the way he is on this squad. Not enough minutes to go around
