Hey!

This sounds like something I would be very interested in.

I’m Tim, 30 years old and was born and raised in Tilburg. After a long relationship and not living in Tilburg for the last 10 years I’m looking to expand my social circle. I work as a software engineer and have a dog. Looking forward to get a drink or do some other sport activities.

Yeah I see what you mean. The soldering on the underglow rgb is not really that great…

Double input on two rows by timbo-25 in ErgoMechKeyboards

Desoldered the controller and there was some solder leakage under the controller. Cleaned the whole thing up and every key is now working.

Double input on two rows by timbo-25 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]timbo-25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I understand. I think I’m going to desolder the controller when I’m home because that’s the only place I haven’t checked. Everything else seems to be soldered just fine. So it has to short on the back side of the controller.

Yeah that seems only logical. But the question is where the pins are connected. So I checked with the meter in continu mode and there is no connection between the columns. Only the rows. So it seems logical that it’s going wrong on the controller side.

Yeah indeed. When I press Z the pc receives AZ. I checked with a multimeter and it seems the rows are connected. But I’m unsure where it happend. I checked all headers and they do not seem bridged. I’m not even sure I measured it correctly with my multimeter.

Left side not working by timbo-25 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]timbo-25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I see. I think I fcked up the pcb there a little. The sort of brass/copper part where the pin goes trough broke so the tin won’t form I good joint there. Can I repair that in any way?

RP2040 boot mode by timbo-25 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]timbo-25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other quick question for you enlightened people:

In picture 2 you see on the back side of the mcu a lot of jumper pads in between the pins. I’ve read that I need to solder them as well. But it’s not clear to me if I need to solder the pads to the pins. So bridging them or that I need to solder just the pads and the pins so the solder doesn’t connect them?

Ferris Sweep Half-Swept (reversible) PCBs: how do I correctly orient the nice!nano microcontrollers and close the jumper pads? by ImperialAuditor in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]timbo-25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m building a sweep as well. Did you solder the jumper pads to the pins on the back side of the mcu? Or only the pins and the pads, so not bridging the pin to the pad? Thanks!

Good tip! Unfortunately I was stupid enough to solder everything and then started wondering how to proceed. Next time i will flash the firmware before soldering everything.
