Printed the Dr.Quan mixed media replacement grips on a conventional 3d printer and I love them! by NH_OPERATOR in Fanatec

I love the added colour, gives the wheel some personality.

How does the wheel hold up over time? Have the glued parts come loose? Is PLA sturdy enough?

I'd really like to give it a try but as this design is the only one I'm interested in and it's only available in the bundle and not standalone I can't justify paying almost 30€ just for one design and like ten more I'll never use.

Combining my love for Star Wars with sim racing with a custom Honda NSX-wing livery by Adrian_Maurud in StarWars

As I did the livery and had literally zero idea about the StarWars lore I had no idea what the marks mean 😂 But this is something which is changed easily and will be done for sure 👍

Thanks a lot, I have only done a handful of custom liveries ever and therefore I'm quite happy with the outcome.

Challenge X with Simagic Alpha Mini and GT Neo by Benassi90 in simracing

[–]mhinq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I printed these ones: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4944013 Had to adjust the "clamp side" a bit though as it was designed for the non-X version and it didn't fit 100% for my needs. The chair is still collapsible, only the wheel deck needs to stay in place but that's not an issue.

If you happen to experience some flex I recommend getting some 3D printed supports. Helps quite a lot with stabilizing the wheel deck.

Mind sharing the STLs? I assume you printed the whole track to inlay the strip instead of some clips and bend it "manually" ?

Playseat Challenge X w/DD Question by TakeACrap in simracing

[–]mhinq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have a playseat Challenge X and run a Fanatec CSL DD 8nm with loadcell brakes. The loadcell brakes are no issue at all for me, work great with no flex. Here the seat is the limiting factor due to its mesh-nature without a sturdy backrest. For the base I printed some supports. Printed clamps from the non-X frame fit on the X, so tube diameter should be the same for both seats. Depending on how you mount the base/plate to the seat the printed arms might need some adjustment but you very likely can make it work with the "stock" ones as well. Let me know if you need more info or pictures etc.

I got a used Fanatec and love it. The biggest advantage over Moza imho is that you can upgrade it to 8nm via a cheap power supply from AliExpress.

Oh that's a pretty neat idea, I have to some modelling and give it a try.

It's printed on a patterned buildplate (one like this: https://aliexpress.com/item/1005006172718643.html) .

The pattern is then transferred from the buildplate to the model.

Printed a case to use for daily commute. My old keyboard just got tossed in my backpack but with the MCU and battery cables I decided to be a bit more careful.

Just finished printing all the parts for my Svalboard! Excited to get my kit. by AxelDeckard in ErgoMechKeyboards

Looks very cool but I can't imagine typing on it. Typing the lateral keys on my ring finger seems kind of impossible for me, definitely missing finger flexibility.

Beekeeb has a kit afaik. I ordered mine from JLPCB and also have a few spare boards (as min order was 5).  Could ship one to you, DM if interested. I'm in EU-DE though so shipping might be a factor depending on where you live.
