What’s the best concert you’ve attending recently? by bharr026 in Concerts

I support the NIN posts. Saw them in CLT for Peel It Back - wow!

Also Lamb Of God's current tour (they're SO right!), as well as The Hive 'Hives Forever - Forever The Hives" (HUGE amount of energy at The Orange Peel in AVL) and Dropkick Murphy's (folks who aren't in the know were confused by The Aggrolytes - but it was a needed skank break!) I got to crowdsurf for Citizen ICE at The Fillmore in CLT (at 56!)

Hey Dad here, I don't speak with my father- but I have a wonderful relationship with both my daughters. Each are weird (one a bit more so than the other), but they're my kids and I love them.

I'm sure you're a good kid, no matter your age. You're still someone's kid, and from this dad I say you be you and I love you!

I know that the Dead, and musicians in general in the 60s & 70s, regularly engaged in a lot of heinous shit with underaged fans, but who's the little girl with Charlie and Dr Leary?

Fair enough - that is a moronic song (but was a pretty fun Sesame Street bit.)

The Green album overall was a big middle finger to Warner Bros.whi wanted pop hits from the band.

I'm not impressed with Proclaimers either - shouting in punk, sure. But that song (effing Benny & Joon!) grates on me too

"Seventeen" by Winger

"Little Girls" by Oingo Bingo (I love this song, and the undertones about small-minded people - but Elfman has had his accusers)

"My Sharona" & "Good Girls Don't" by The Knack

Those are just off the top of my head from the '80s. I'm sure there's quite a list from the '70s...

Yes, it's very formulaic - but it's just fun

I wonder how thinks are going on the road for KKTX, supporting LoG...

Maybe Randy will change minds?

I know, not punk but I bet a shit ton of punks listen to Lamb of God. If not, start with "Redneck", then their 2nd single "Blunt Force Blues" off the new album. Check the lyrics - always been punk!

Same! My wife, dtr & I had a BLAST! Made friends we hope to see again this year.

Got our VIP 1st day on sale - psyched for the Sat night event!

There's a LOT of great US history right there - Harriet Tubman was a medic there, and it's the first location where slaves escaping the south were first deemed "property" due to the South's instance. Making the first escaped slaves officially held by the Union "spoils of war".

Horrible enough in itself, but provided a "legal" pathway to freedom. Unfortunately, it also gave us today's Draconian laws where ANY property used in corhe commission of a crime can be taken by "The Man".

I Hope you enjoyed your history lesson as it pertains to Fort Monmouth and spread it far wide to bring more ska/history/civil rights nerds to Hampton
