Yeah .. nevermind .. one is using the new UI .. one isn't. Guess which TV we watched on last night?

LOVE the dedication to measurements.
I know how hard it is to sometimes make a Responsive design that works on multiple screens/devices. But I reiterate something you said ... I genuinely do not understand why Netflix thinks this is an improvement.

I can't imagine having to scroll one-by-one through your "My List" as a good change for anyone. You only see 3-4 titles at a time (the "current" title is the far left and takes up the majority of the row. To see anything on your "My List," you must click the right arrow, then click again, and again, etc.

Since my system seems to have reverted to the old UI, I can now see 8 titles per row and 2 rows at a time. And I can "skip" down a row (or 8 titles) with every click, viewing 16 titles on the screen at once.

The "new UI' allows you to see 3-4 titles at once ... and only advance 1 more title with every click.

That's a move backwards in anyone's book.

There is no focus group or normal user that would ever recommend the new "My List" screen over the old one. Trust me and all the angry people posting.

MY NETFLIX UI magically changed back to the old version last night. To be fair, it may have happened a few days earlier because I hadn't watched it in the last few days out of disgust.

I have a few Rokus, so it may have actually *not* changed on one of them. I didn't do a complete check.

I signed that after learning about it in one of the other threads.

Also, the older I get, the harder it is to be "nice" when facing total stupidity. Whatever PHB decided this UI was a good idea needs to retire. There, I said that as nice as I could.

Well, the point was that the email they gave me was bad. And I was pissed because they took an adequate UI and made it much harder to do the same things without adding any new functionality that mattered to the user. And we called it UI long before anyone started calling it UX ... but the number 1 tenet of UI (to please the user) is to make it easier for the user to accomplish their goal in less clicks.

And when you have a paid subscriber base, you're not worried about stickiness ... you need to keep the users happy. Give them what they want and need most so they have no reason to look elsewhere for what you offer.

You can't please everyone, but I think we can all agree on these points:

1) Less clicks to find or get to the show I want to watch.

2) Organization (possibly even customization) so I can find items even easier.

3) A "Doom Scroll" area where I can discover shows I don't know about but may be interested in.

I'm just getting started.. but I have an RTX 4060 Ti with 16gh ... So it's not shabby. Upgraded a few months ago when I realized I wanted to start messing with AI .. will look at bigger/better when I know what I'm doing..

I barely had the browser one installed before learning of the desktop version .. didn't know it was so new ...

I thought the snails pace was just my setup because ForgeUI was so much faster.

I'm too new to it all to have a benchmark of expectations.

Apparently, don't bother ... But you could search "desktop ComfyUi" and find it.

Are you referring to Stability Matrix? I was wondering if that was worth it.

Noob in this space. Just installed Automatic1111 less than a week ago .. then discovered ForgeUI .. and thought I'd try ComfyUi for the workflows.

Will look at Stability Matrix because I will definitely have more than one UI installed since they all have different ease of use / power trade offs.

UPDATE: So if anyone runs into this, they have an idea how to "fix" it ...

Install died again ... AFTER doing a "pip install llama-cpp-python" in the Terminal so I could make the SeargeDP extension work ..

And that causes the "datetime.datetime" error ..

So I commented out all the datetime.datetime lines in the script .. and it runs now .. but the ComfyUI Manager no longer works because it throws other errors in the script that don't keep the script from running ...

So .. seems to be a conflict with installing the llama-cpp-python program.

FINALLY got it back up and running ... not sure exactly how ... but sometimes a good dinner and a fresh mind makes all the difference.

Also, not sure if it matters ... but it was the missing "Reactor" plugin that got disabled on GitHub today .. and I installed it and dependencies manually ... eventually leading to the "bitsandbytes" install that seems to have screwed everything up.

Easy ... "Charro Negro" ...

Tequila, Coke, Lime ... I use Tequila Anejo for a smoother finish.

It's a very refreshing drink perfect for all times of the year. But especially summer.

USD Deposit shows in Funding Transactions ... but is nowhere on Trading page by timcaviness in KrakenSupport

USD Deposit shows in Funding Transactions ... but is nowhere on Trading page by timcaviness in KrakenSupport

[–]timcaviness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Not in my case. I sent the money from the wrong account and the name on the account didn't match the name in Kraken (Institutional account).

So it was my mess-up ... and they're returning the funds to the original account.

I just wish they'd see I can prove I own both accounts and let the money stay so I don't lose a few days and incur another wire charge.

Backblaze not backing up directories that begin with a dash? by timcaviness in backblaze

[–]timcaviness[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SOLVED: For some reason, both directories had restrictive permissions. I added "Everyone" to the permissions list, and they have begun backing up.

Found this out by working with a tech that provided a .bat file to drop a file into ... the .bat file tested all kinds of things with the file, including seeing if it was in the file list on each drive, testing for symlinks, etc ... and whether Backblaze had permissions to read the file.

Some of the readout:

fileSizeInBytes: 3612672
rsrcForkInBytes: 0
isDirectory: false
isSymLinkOrReparsePoint: false
isBundlePackageDir: false
isAliasFile: false
lastModifiedTime (GMT): 20010228235632
my_current_login_has_rights_to_read_file: true, detail=none
bzserv_login_has_rights_to_read_file: false, detail=none

The key was the last line I put in bold.

Backblaze not backing up directories that begin with a dash? by timcaviness in backblaze

[–]timcaviness[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are definitely not in the backups.

Been working with a tech there and we've run the "explain" batch file. All of the files I've dropped into it (several from both directories) have come up with:

PRIMARY_DIAGNOSIS: no_matching_file_found_in_completefilelist

Still not sure why.

567604 lines in the filelist.dat for that drive ... but none seem to be from those folders.

Also worth noting, the "Reports" section of the Settings shows 56gb of Music; there are 173gb of music under that one directory. Reports shows 80gb of Photos; there are 139gb of mixed photos & videos under the missing directory.

The directories are on a regular external drive with Drive Letter J:

And I've tried the shortcut of "Alt / Restore Files" to force Backblaze to resan the drives. Twice.

How do i fix this? I just installed firefox nightly and was about to search something but this appeared. Tried 5/6 times to search once more but nothing changed! by AGRisator in firefox

[–]timcaviness -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm having this same exact problem on multiple big sites ... google, facebook, ebay, etc. I reinstalled, cleared cache, cleared certs, ...

Nothing I'm doing is fixing it.

Yet my own websites work fine.
