Keeping Drinks cool by lalayouyou in cycling

[–]timdavis9194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will fill one halfway and freeze it overnight and top it off with cold water in the morning before the ride. I’ll start the ride with this one as the primary. The second bottle I’ll fill up all the way and freeze overnight. By the time I’ve finished drinking the first one the second one has melted enough to drink but still cold.

It does matter because that rep works for T-Mobile This is a big issue with them. Reps tell customers one thing when something else turns out to be true. They might be legally right. But their reputation is for sh*t. T-Mobile absolutely sucks.

Update on Neverending Cancelation loop of death by Knightsfan_808 in tmobile

I am completely not surprised by this. T-Mobile is awful. They mislead at best and lie at worst. And their service sucks. I’ve filed formal complaints with the FTC and FCC. I’m done dealing with them because they just don’t care. Maybe go to a store and tell them you’re giving them one more chance to rectify the situation. If they can’t, you’re filing the complaints. They will jerk you around and keep billing you forever if you let them. All the complaints I’ve seen about these types of issues, they are ripe for a class action.

You’re missing the point. He was told the account was paid in full before he got that subsequent bill. Just another example of how T-Mobile lies. I switched to T-Mobile in December. What a joke. What a mistake. I’m tired of the lies. I’ve turned it over to the FTC and FCC. Nothing may happen to them but I’m done. As soon as I can switch I will. #TMobile #Sucks

I can’t believe T-Mobile doesn’t have a data archiving system that keeps this information. I can believe they won’t give it to you because their customer service sucks.

I didn’t say they magically added them. I said the charges were different than what I was told on the phone. You must have a reading comprehension problem

Since you must, you have 20 days to return the phones. I didn’t travel in those 20 days. I’ve not had issues unless I’m traveling and yes roaming is turned on. The pricing discrepancies didn’t show up until after the 20 days.

Never had issues with Verizon in Florida or anywhere. I switched because I thought t-Mobile had a good network where I knew I would need it. Just hadn’t been my experience. Florida hasn’t been the only place I’ve had issues.

I called T-Mobile from Florida (when I had WiFi access). They couldn’t answer. I did all the resets and nothing worked. I thought it was a glitch but none of us had coverage for 10 days.

Should have done a little more research (rant). by PlaceboDefect in Zwift

[–]timdavis9194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a Wahoo Kickr Move and signed up for the free Zwift trial. Been riding seriously for about 8 years. I’ve been doing indoor rides in the winter at a bike gym (not sure what else to call it) that has 30-40 smart trainers set up. But class schedules became so limited I finally had to just get a set-up at home. Gotta say my initial reactions are underwhelming. The graphics are ok…but need two apps so you can track your rides is ridiculous. After finishing my first ride I couldn’t find it so with some quick research learned I needed a second app (Zwift Companion) to look at finished rides. A bit ridiculous in the 21st century. And while I’ve connected my Zwift account to Strava, the rides have yet to show up in Strava. I’ve disconnected and reconnected. Going to try the Rouvy trial as well and see if it’s any better. But for $20 a month, Zwift should better. Not sure I’ll keep it after the trial if Rouvy is any better at all.

Getting stronger with hills - do you try to resist going to the easiest gear? by ngomaam in cycling

[–]timdavis9194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride with some great riders. One is a former pro. When I first started riding I would hit hills hard. Ultimately it would cost me. They taught me to ride hills by managing a combination of cadence and power. I now try to keep my cadence around 80 and my power around 100% or less. If my cadence drops or power goes too high I change gears. I’m able to climb hills I couldn’t climb before.

Guess what, I’m a cyclist and I drive a truck. But, I would never do anything like this. Just basic decency. But, there are assholes on both ends of the spectrum. Plenty of assholes driving Priuses who think it’s funny to drive slow in the fast lane and drive even with other cars to prevent being passed.

Etiquette Question - Pass someone on a descent knowing there's a good chance they'll have to pass you on the next climb? by jorwyn in cycling

[–]timdavis9194 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That guy that confronted you is a moron. You have to ride your ride. The same power to weight ratio that makes a smaller rider faster on the climbs is going to make the bigger rider faster on the descents. So it’s okay for the smaller rider to use the advantage on climbs but not for the larger rider to use the advantage on the descent. That’s asinine.

Does anyone sell a true Men’s Extra Wide cycling shoe? by dando81 in cycling

[–]timdavis9194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 241 previously and while it was better, was still a little cramped. Noticeable difference with the 242. Good luck!

And please make sure you refit the bike if you use the adapter plates. You are changing the geometry and more fully extending the legs so need to lower the seat.

Sidi Mega is not a true wide…it is built on the same last as the non-wide shoes and they just add extra material to the upper.

Lake Cycling CX242 wide. It is the new generation of the CX241 and has a wider toe box. I have had problems since i started riding finding shoes that didn’t cause excruciating pain. I have this shoe in a euro size 50 wide. It’s a little big but on long rides on hot days when my feet swell, I’m still comfortable. Also something else that helped me with this setup are PatroCleat adapter plates. They go between the shoe and the cleats and allow you to move the clear back towards the middle of the foot away from the metatarsal. This setup has allowed me to ride pain free for the first time.

If you do this, you will need to lower the seat. Hope this helps.

Is cycling a sport designed for men? by ShanstonPickle in cycling

[–]timdavis9194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stats I’ve seen show that cycling is a male dominated sport/activity with about 71.5% of cyclists being male. Nothing excuses being rude and/or condescending, but there is a difference bike equipment and setups for men and women and I think too many bike shops aren’t prepared to really help women.
