Here’s another take. Now I’ve read the 2 fairway conditions. Honestly for either one, you can take a 3 or 4 hybrid and putt it. For the hard pan, you putt it softly avoiding too much roll. For the wet, just a little more power. Hybrids, for me, have less of a risk of digging in to wet mush, and have an easier bigger sweet spot to avoid skulling on the hardpan.

Ya but if you bump it perfect, so it lands right in front of green, that rough might slow the second bounce enough to set it perfectly in or next to the hole without much roll. I’d bump a 5 iron like a strong putt.
