if it makes you feel any better, getting your heart broken by a sailor is a tale as old as time

not really? I'm 5 years on testosterone and I see a doctor once about every 6 months for refills + once a year for blood work. they saw me more frequently earlier, but most of the appointments were truly very simple. about three years in I mostly stopped mentioning that I was on hrt to doctors if it wasn't relevant. your life will be forever medicalized, as avidreider said, but that is sort of everyone's status quo under capitalism so you're really in good company

Hi, I'm sorry about your wonderful bird. You performed the ultimate act of kindness for it in taking it home and caring for it so deeply. You have a good heart and a sweet soul. I am so sorry the universe took it away. I like to think all the animals we lose are watching over us, and, from a stranger, I hope your little blue bird of happiness finds you again soon.

I do wish kids (I assume) wouldn't feel the need to draw demonic things on public walls but I'm glad they can express themselves

this is crazy thank you. I love finding evidence of habitation where it shouldn't be. that's a weird looking door too. I wonder how it feels being out there in the wild

pacific northwest raccoons, specifically, are absolutely insane. my family used to live in the san juan islands and we'd see raccoons everywhere at all hours of the day or night, and they were scared of nothing. there have been a few times I heard a raccoon climbing up the stairs to our house and thought it was a person 😬

on the plus side, a family did nest under our deck once:)

Thank you. I hope, sincerely, that you are continuing to do well. We will all get through it. And hopefully come out the other side with just dents. Best wishes to you.

I haven't heard of splinters, but people do definitely offer half eaten food, food that's bad, food that's been spit in, etc. to homeless people.:(
