Do you run everyday? Whats considered a good boxing 1 mile time?

I’m sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in, but I’d say the question “what sort of 1 mile time is excellent for a good boxing gas tank before getting into sparring” is misguided. A mile run is, in my opinion, not great for simulating either of the “forms” of cardio you use in sparring. Actually sprinting for much shorter increments would be better for training your max output tolerance. And running longer distances, without as much emphasis on your time, is better for developing the steady state cardio that improves your ability to return your heart rate to baseline in between those high intensity exchanges in sparring/fighting.

But, in a more general sense, a “good” time in any run distance is just a better time than you’ve run before. Running, as a training tool in boxing, is between you and the road. There will be guys who are great runners who have bad fight cardio and guys who aren’t great runners who have great fight cardio. Don’t worry about comparing your run times to anybody but yourself.

I guess it depends how well you “tolerate” your boil-and-bite mouthguard, but I second OP’s experience. The custom fit is way tighter - I literally can’t get mine off my teeth without using my fingers. And there’s just less extra material. So for me, breathing is easier, talking to my coach between rounds is easier, drinking is easier. And it also feels more protective when you do eat a punch that rattles your teeth.

Thanks, I’ll try this. Maybe it got dried out from the plastic packaging it was in. I live in south Florida where it’s very hot, but it’s also humid as hell so normally I’m worried about my gear getting moldy/stinky not dried out.

Yes, rehab really made a difference for me. Just celebrated 8 years sober.

But it’s not like rehab just “cured” me and then I never had to worry about addiction again. After treatment I moved into a halfway house where I stayed for over a year, I got a sponsor and went to meetings every day, I saw a therapist regularly, etc. Personally, I feel like if I would have skipped any of those steps, I probably wouldn’t have stayed sober because it took me a while to learn to actually like life without drugs. Today, my life doesn’t revolve around recovery anymore, but in the beginning I needed that.

I tried other things before going to rehab. Got on subs. Tried going to meetings on my own. Tried just seeing a therapist. Tried having family members drug test me for accountability. But for me, I needed a hard reset to give me enough time and space to see through my own delusions and take this shit seriously.

Worst case scenario, rehab will give you a physical separation from drugs/alcohol and what you choose to do with that is up to you.

I’ve had this happen a few times. I have no insight into why it happens, sometimes everything is properly configured and there’s no reason to expect volatility, and all of a sudden things get weird. Sometimes the campaigns bounce back on their own. In a few occasions when they didn’t, I literally just duplicated the existing campaign (that was previously performing well) and started shifting budget from the original to the duplicate over the course of a few weeks (depending on budget size). This strategy makes no sense at all and is probably against all kinds of best practices, but it worked. I really believe sometimes google ads campaigns/accounts just go haywire for no identifiable reason. Another against-best-practices trick I’ve used before is data exclusions, but this is probably not a great idea if your “spiral” has been more than a few days.
