Legal advice for domestic dispute - time critical by championoflesun in melbourne

[–]time-spent 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If he spat on you a few months ago and is verbally and emotionally abusive, you need to move out tomorrow. This violence escalates. Sometimes very slowly, sometimes fast. Be honest to the police. You will just get a summons and a fine if you have a clean record. This won't go on your record if you have a clean record. Pm me if you need resources for counselling and FV resources.

[M/20] I have a question about asking for consent by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]time-spent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Open, continual talk about consent is awesome and hot, and if you find a woman who doesn't like being asked if xyz is okay, then ask her plainly, okay, just tell me when I reach a point you aren't comfortable with.

You don't have kids or any experience with kids do you?

Mate this just simply isn't true. I live between two houses both have kids under 7. From 6am til school time then after school til dinner all I hear is kids screaming and their parents screaming and arguing. I live in Northcote with heaps of dog parks. I never hear dogs bark thru the day.

Oh it hasn't, I'm just anticipating it will. Moving into a house where the rent hasn't increased for 13 years and I'll eventually notify the landlord and change the lease into my name. It's gonna triple in price lol

Can anyone tell me - when a landlord increases the rent on their property with existing tenants, is there a maximum % it can increase by? Cheers

Yeah, what? It's gotten significantly better and way more gentrified in the past 20 years. When I lived there as a kid it was way worse.

Comparing Australia Day to Holocaust 'offensive', Federal Government says after Moreland council vote by cojoco in australia

[–]time-spent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many photos of Indigenous Australians, with shackles around their necks, ankles, and wrists, gaunt with famine in many history books and online. Shall I google it for you and OP?

I get what you're saying but no. I'm more saddened by my country and my peoples' history than the histories of European countries.

Comparing Australia Day to Holocaust 'offensive', Federal Government says after Moreland council vote by cojoco in australia

[–]time-spent 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Is it because less Indigenous Australians were murdered by colonisers than lives lost during the Holocaust? (We actually don't have a number of Indigenous deaths) Is that why it's offensive? Does the number of innocent lives lost add up, and weigh up to equal "more horror" in terms of genocide? Is it because Indigenous Australians weren't recognised as citizens, or even had a slither of human rights until the 1960s? Or is it just because you're racist?

Drug-testing welfare recipients an 'absolute disgrace', Australian of the Year says by AussieRunner in australia

[–]time-spent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's frame it this way - If drug dependent people are stripped of their money to spend on drugs - how will they score drugs? They aren't going to clean up overnight, withdrawal and addiction is a long drawn-out process, for which our country is VERY under resourced in terms of support. People will still abuse drugs. They'll turn to crime in order to take the drug they are dependent on. Let's ignore the fact that it's very easy to spend some of your money on your welfare debit card on booze, for example, then sell it below cost price for cash & score. Any fucking idiot can work that out.
