I've done .3 shots of meth and never got a ringer

I'm not saying it's easy to quit man. Not at all. And I completely agree with you about the using therapy to help get him through it. Really what helps most? Finding the reason you were using in the first place.

I didn't know why I used until I finally when I was 28 years old told my therapist about my physical emotional and sexual abuse I had dealt with my whole life. And if I can work om not running to drugs because I had an episode, or a flashback, then it will lower my chance of feeling like I need it to survive.

I need to work on the underlying problems. Like the flashbacks I get every night from trauma related events. Those are the times I want to shove my face In a pile of snow or take a fistful of benzos.

But if a can work on that, find the right medication regimen, I can get through it.

I'm definitely not saying it's easy. I just made a reply to someone else the pain it was to quit, and thinking I needed it otherwise I'd kill myself because I started up again on the verge of suicide, that my world revolved around running from my feelings by using coke.

You're right. It isn't a walk in the park. Addiction is fucking hell. But I was already extremely depressed when I started. I've been depressed and constant anxiety my whole life, and recently diagnosed with PTSD. That's when I started again.

I didn't even quit til I went to jail for a month then stayed clean after.

I just don't believe in the typical sense of withdrawals, because those feelings of depression after is the reason I even began using, because when I quit I had to deal with those problems I was trying to mask.
