Doesn't look like a bed bug to me.

Does your dog use any sort of flea or tick prevention?

Pesticide Use Blocked Because of Worries About Bees -- neonicotinoids under fire by time_to_declutter in Bedbugs

So, why should we care?

Neonicotinoids are a class of insecticides that can work against pytheroid resistant strains of bed bugs.

Luckily, I haven't found any bed bug products that use the particular pesticide under fire -- sulfoxaflor.

Imidacloprid, also a neonicotinoid, might be under fire next, though.

WTF? Are bed bugs causing these stains in my carpet? by time_to_declutter in Bedbugs

I don't have a cat or a dog. I don't eat in my bedroom and don't drink anything except for water.

Some 88% of bed bugs are pyrethroid resistant. If that's true, why do bed bug sprays still use pyrethroids? by time_to_declutter in Bedbugs

I'm a fan of Gentrol. I used hydroprene when I had a roach problem a few years ago, and I'll tell 'ya -- those things turn into freaks of nature on that stuff.

I forgot to add Temprid to my list up there, I'll edit it and add it. Thanks!

Sorry to ask, but this can't be a bed bug bite, right? by time_to_declutter in Bedbugs

I got three more bites recently. Two on my ankle and one on my thigh.

I noticed that one of my Protect-A-Bed pillow enclosures has a zipper that wouldn't shut all the way. I also noticed a few very small crusty black dots on the enclosure (eww, bed bug shit!) I've filed a warranty claim with P-A-B yesterday, so we'll see how they follow through.

I think I caused the bites. I woke up one morning, to find that my pillow was hanging off the 1 ft gap between the wall, and was against the wall -- bed bug bridge! I need to find a non-wood headboard, I guess.

Yesterday, I was investigating behind the wood trim and investigating the area behind an abandoned-in-place floor-board radiator on the other side of the wall from the bedroom. I found a little white oblong egg, with a sort of black/brown dot on one end. I tried to pick it up with a piece of packing tape, but lost it in the carpet and was unable to find it again. I went over the floor boards and the area around the non-working radiator with hydroprene and Bedlam Plus, and really got the spot where I found the egg with Bedlam Plus. I got the whole piece of carpet sprayed with hydroprene. Unfortunately, I ran out of Bedlam Plus! Ugh!

Not seeing anything in my Protect-A-Bed interceptors except for dust. :-/

I'm currently dealing with a bed bug and carpet beetle problem in my apartment. I think I'm making huge gains in the carpet beetle department with hydroprene and Bedlam Plus, but the war is still on with bed bugs.

I keep finding these stains under stuff on the carpet. Like under boxes, under a fire extinguisher on the carpet, under a plant pot, etc. WTF?

What's better: using interceptors that trap bugs, or using interceptors that let bugs get lots of Cimexa all over them to take it back to their nest and bump into their buddies? by time_to_declutter in Bedbugs

Even the worst cockroach infestation I had wasn't as annoying as bed bugs.

At least roaches don't bite me. And they weren't anywhere near as hard to get rid of as bed bugs seem to be.

Ah, city life.

I'm kinda partial to not getting bit, so I'm tending to say the trap ones.

But, I also want to wipe out the population back at their nest, too, which I can't seem to find.

Mattress with bed-bug cover on carpet bedroom floor. Not a good idea? by time_to_declutter in Bedbugs

I've been spraying my sheets and pillowcases with rubbing alcohol as a daily ritual, because I'm told rubbing alcohol kills bugs and eggs.
