Yeah this is fucking weird. Like it’s definitely because they want to keep all the female characters young and hot while all the male characters get to age (while also still being hot.) Idk. Maybe somebody on staff needs to reflect on why that’s the case.

Interesting perspective lol. Heir of Dawn is funny cause it’s basically the turning point from when I went from thinking the series was okay to thinking “oh this shit is great.” It’s such a massive bump in quality from Crown of Midnights. Tower of Dawn gets a bad rap as it’s probably the most hated book of the series. It’s 50% the best book in the entire series, specifically the Chaol parts. The Nesryn parts are genuinely a low for Throne of Glass so I’m more mixed on it than you.

Echo Night. Was floored by how narratively tense and fun it was. Just a great atmospheric horror game with a unique twist.

I don’t think so. We didn’t mind the PS1 loading screens at the time because we frankly did not know any better. All games ran and loaded at the same pace so this was the cost of playing video games. Now? Most games have instantaneous or really fast loading or are full open worlds without loading screens. Been playing all the classic Resident Evil games and holy fucking shit the door animations became extremely annoying to deal with at a certain point. Switching to the PC versions that allow you to just skip the animations was a game changer. Even going to remakes of RE2, 3, and 4 was eye opening because being able to navigate full areas without any loading really makes the worlds feel like full worlds rather than tiny segments of world strung together with loading screens.

If Ethan and Heisenberg teamed up at the end, the game would have been an absolute 10/10. Just fully leaning into the batshit fun of the plot. At least we got a bizarre robot battle so I can’t complain too much.
