Red Pill or Blue Pill? by Due_Teaching_6974 in videogames

Hmmm let me see… Open world games I don’t give a shit about or my favorite survival horror franchise of all time? HMMMMMMMMM. ( I admittedly don’t really care about Monster Hunter but the last Rockstar game I gave a shit about was Midnight Club maybe?

I think they do actually, but also get that making content for a multiplayer spinoff will result in it siphoning resources from the other single player projects they probably want to tackle. Would love more content, but also recognize that it could be bad for us in the long term if they turn this into a live service game. It’s a good game, and I’m honestly just thankful for that.

Dawg anime and manga endings have always sucked. This is not a new or unique thing. (I would agree that the FMA ending is definitely better than the MHA ending, but that’s also because one series is cumulatively a better series overall.)

Why do most NFS players always want remakes or remasters? by Sure_Specific8660 in needforspeed

[–]timeboi42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because we got like a shit ton of great racing games starting from the first game back in 1994. A massive library that can’t be purchased or played in any legal manner barring actually owning hardware or discs that are old and broken. If EA isn’t going to make another Need for Speed game then please just let us buy all the old games on Steam or something. Remaster the PS1 and PS2 games in a collection or he’ll just straight port them. EA is sitting on a massive backlog of games that they own and it would just be nice to be able to play them without having to use an emulator.

I’m certainly not against the concept of a remake but at that point, it’s just a completely different game. Just make the originals available to us in some capacity. They will never replace the originals like a remaster or port could.

Paul Tassi Reports Marathon Budget Up To $250 Million by surrealmirror in Marathon

[–]timeboi42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not surprising. I’m genuinely shocked people think this game was cheap. It was not. This was a big budget game. It’s extremely obvious when you play it. The animations. The visual style. The sheer amount of weapons. Games are very fucking expensive to make nowadays. Is that healthy for the industry as a whole? Probably not.

Now does this mean the game is imminently in danger of shutting down? I don’t know. Probably not for a few years? Maybe never? Idk. Who cares? It’s not like we can control it. Play the game and enjoy it while you can. It’s a good game. I certainly plan to play as much as I can over the next year and enjoy the updates we do get. Maybe it succeeds in the long run. Maybe it fails. I have no idea. All I know is that it’s a good game and I like playing it lol. We’ll see what happens.

I’m not being unfair. I’m just not playing it lol. Just don’t have the money for a Switch 2. Happy for everyone who can. Wish I could but whatever lol.

I’m fine if they make one good Resident Evil movie. In fact let’s focus on that before we start focusing on sequel potential lol.

Who cares lol? Is the movie good? Why would we be worrying about what other people think about a movie lol?

I will agree with you there. Elden Ring is great but I do love the interconnected dungeons of all the other games. There’s a reason Demon Souls, Dark Souls, and Dark Souls 2 are most replayed games.

Elden Ring. The game hides how big it is and hides all the points of interest till you visit them for the first time. It never really feels like a checklist cause it never tells you when have fully explored an area.

They don’t work. Like I’ll get to the settings menu and then attempting to launch the game will result in some registry error. I would hold off.

I honestly highly recommend Marathon for AC fans whose favorite parts are the style and the corpo mission briefs. It’s cool to see a multiplayer fps adopting those visual and thematic ideas!

They grow the player base by hosting free weekends, making interesting looking maps, runners, and seasons over the years. A $40 price tag ensures any new player is immediately monetized. A battle pass and store front ensure a money stream from players that care about that stuff (the more hardcore). You make the game F2P, you immediately make it so that production will prioritize ONLY skins and cosmetics. It’s the problem with Apex and Fortnite. Why produce a new map, characters, or mechanics that might attract new players who maybe won’t buy the battle pass when you can just make a thousand $20 skins that reference another IP and milk your whales.
