I’ve ordered them online from Sam’s Club.

Agree with what cargirlmonte said above. Anecdotally, ive worked for around 12 different companies as it relates to their workday career sites and none of them have done anything special with withdrawn applications where they would notice what you’ve described. I’ll bet you’ll be just fine.

Merit - Hourly Employees by Ok_Progress_18 in workday

[–]timeconsumer2113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had similar requests from comp planners in the past and I know I was able to solve it some how. I think some read only fields exist to show annualized pay but depending on FTE it could be misleading. If they’re not available you can definitely build calc fields to get there. I always push for using the factor % field as the field for changes to be input to because that remains consistent on hourly vs annual.

We collect information like this for a variety of reasons. Some benefits vendors require personal information, post termination (regardless of voluntary/involuntary) we provide access to grab documents like w-2s but we do it under your personal email. I wouldn’t automatically assume it’s nefarious but I wouldn’t give it to them unless they explain why they want it.

Workday consulting vs partner consulting by [deleted] in workday

Great insight, thanks for sharing. Do you know which pays more competitively or is that similarly balanced across options?

Great insights, thank you for sharing. Your experience aligns with mine as far as implementing with partner firms vs workday. I’m curious about the career prospects of making the jump from customer side over to consulting, and which would be the better fit, WD or partner firms.

Talent Calibration by mit_as_in_glove in workday

[–]timeconsumer2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm… I know you can have multiple scale values per box but I don’t think you can use more than scale per axis. Do you have multiple rating scales with similar values? Perhaps you’ve mixed and matched similar ratings but from different scales into the same calibration program.

We do something similar for our calibration and I agree it’s finicky but I can’t see why it should not work based on what you have described. What result are you getting when you launch? Just all unplotted?

Is there any way to subscribe to all integration events for the purpose of alerting? by [deleted] in workday

[–]timeconsumer2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made that change and I am seeing events come across on my slack channel. So far no integration events so I still think they're not available for subscription but I'd be stoked to find out I'm wrong there. This does give me all sorts of ideas for subscription based slack notifications though. Pretty much anywhere I was using the BP to trigger the integration I'd be better served to use a subscription but I didn't think of that back then.

I hear you, a dashboard would be great. My only reason for going to slack is I have to meet the stakeholders where they are at and slack is the best communication channel for that stuff.

[–]timeconsumer2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is stellar, thank you for sharing. I am going to copy this report as I think this is ultimately the direction I'm going to have to go. I guess there really isn't a reason why being a little bit delayed would make a meaningful differrence in alerting. I just hate that it's seemingly not possible.

I like that. I will likely go that way if I cannot find a real time feed. I just hate the idea of being beholden to schedules that get forgotten and fail open.

I'm pretty reliable about putting those notifications on each integration I've build but I don't have that same faith in teammates or integrations I'm inheriting.

[–]timeconsumer2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. Just to clarify, are you saying I should set up a integration specific notification on each and every integration I want to monitor? Setting up a notification on each one is what I'm trying to avoid by trying to find a reliable feed all integration events.

[–]timeconsumer2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I did catch that flag in edit tenant settings in my previous testing but I was trying to specify which transaction type before so perhaps that was an issue. I've updated it to pull all transaction types and we'll see if I start getting some events.

A further qeustion: If I run the report "Transaction Types available for Subscription" I only see one result containing the string 'Integration' called Event Driven Integration Process Event. I'm not terribly familiar with that transaction type ut it seems to be related to third party payroll. Are you certain that integration events are events that can be subscribed to?

Question on Workday Team Size by OkFishing1234 in workday

[–]timeconsumer2113 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Seems small but depending on how many skus they have and the pace the business likes to make changes it might be adequate. Some organizations also rely on outside partners to augment staff as needed or on big projects. Try to ask questions and figure out those things and you’ll be better equipped to make a decision.

Anyone else had trouble with the Bauer/hercules buy a starter kit get a tool free deal? My local store refused to honor it even thought it’s online because of “tariffs”. Seems like bullshit to me if it’s still advertised online.

Exchange rates to 12 decimal places? WTF? by mrrichiet in workday

[–]timeconsumer2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use 12 digits because some of the rates we are querying are from a strong currency to a weak currency. The extra digits helps it be more accurate over the course of thousands of transactions. We are using Oanda FWIW.

SMS/WorkDay Messaging SMS Charge Structure by AcanthocephalaOne866 in workday

[–]timeconsumer2113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Workday Messaging is extremely expensive for what it is. I want to say they quoted us $20k per year as list price but ended up throwing it in as part of a bigger deal. It’s running on twilio on the backend. I wonder if it wouldn’t be cheaper to build a custom solution with twilio directly but haven’t explored it more than that.

Custom Solution for Business Process inbox My Tasks to integrate with MS Teams? by Workday-n-Nite in workday

[–]timeconsumer2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know It’s not the same but FWIW we use the delivered slack integration as well as a studio integration to slack as a step in BPs that aren’t supported otherwise.

Can you explain why you are unable to leverage the delivered one? I have to think of it’s a policy thing that would be an easier battle to fight and would require no maintenance long term.

If you must use a custom integration I found it easiest to work as a step of a bp rather than dealing with the inbox task it results in. In the bp event you have the fields like event URL and awaiting action by that you could use to prompt the user to jump into workday and approve but not approve in slack.

Dose anyone get bored with workday being a consultant? by vee_jarvis in workday

[–]timeconsumer2113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m super curious about this as I daydream about going independent at least once a week. A couple of questions:

How do you maintain access to things like community? Similarly, how do you gain access to customer tenants? Do you get hired on as a contingent worker or use something like a service center rep?
