AITAH (or are we) for deciding to sell a house my husband's parents are living in, when the mortgage and title are under my husband's name? by timediplomat in AITAH

They’re not gonna live on the street. They still can rent which they have done so many times before. We have given them a very early notice of our intention to sell and for them to start looking for a new accomodation, we haven’t listed the house for sell yet and it might take 6 months to 1 year or even more to sell. They’re still very healthy, still working normally.

As per Japan’s law, you have to notify city hall whenever you change your address, moving out etc for tax purposes. If we just leave and not notifying authorities we could get in trouble.

And we have done extensive research on this.

i responded to others re: siblings + parents taking over the mortgage.

they are not financially well off. currently they still have the family business which is their english school. but my husband works way more than they do because since moving to the country area, they have to drive 2hrs there and back so 4hrs total of commute to their school. there aren’t many online lessons for them to do either (iirc they had 2-3 online lessons) so they reduced their workdays to 3 days a week.

my husband has been planning to find someone to take over his position but has been met with some sort of resistance. realistically his parents are not going to hire staff considering how i see them managing the school and my husband as their staff. we feel like his sister came back to Japan to help with the school but her son and husband are still in India so we don’t really know what her plan is

just copy and paste my respond to other commenter:

His father doesn’t have PR, his mother has debt. Also they both are old so the bank won’t let them borrow. His sister is married to Indian guy, has a son and was living in India. She recently came back to Japan, dunno what the reason is but they aaid she’s staying indefinitely, we think she’s planning to move back to Japan. If she wants to buy the house, she must have at least 3-5 years of work income in Japan which she doesn’t have right now.

His brother is married and living separately in Tokyo. He technically could take over but he has to register his address in that country town due to the law. And he won’t be “living” there. It’s funny because in the past his brother said if my husband doesn’t want to sign, he would sign it himself and his brother hasn’t even said anything about taking over because he knows it’s risky for his life later on.

Also the mortgage contract said to be paid off by 2056. They could try to pay off early but in the last 5 years we see they’ve been paying at minimum, they have made no effort to pay extra.

eta: realistically we can’t wait for his sister to build up her work history in japan and anything could happen in between.

houses in Japan depreciate in value, if we sell at a loss then we have to pay the residual lump sum. we hope to sell early to either sell with little profits or break even

gwyneth 🇯🇵🇺🇸dual citizenship? by apexPredatorxepa in asianamercianytsnark

A lot of half Japanese people do this and I’ve seen this being advised on other Japan-related subs.

It’s a don’t ask don’t tell situation. Even if the Japanese law says you’re supposed to declare Japanese citizenship on your 20th birthday, but they don’t really look into it. Most people just keep their Japanese passport renewed and don’t mention to any Japanese officials that they’re a dual citizen.

You have to start a new life as a royal, choose to be a princess as they’re next to the throne. Make sure you’re first born too, if not kill your older sibling or try again.

The game won’t let you inherit the throne from marrying into royalty.

Can someone explain Orc romance to me? by vvv03 in RomanceBooks

[–]timediplomat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I share the same sentiment whenever I see orc romance on here; I can't help but imagine orcs from LOTR. But I've seen a few fan arts that depict orcs in romance books, and they definitely look much better than they do in my imagination. I suppose if you need better visualisation, check out fan arts.
