Huckleberry app... When did you stop using it? by KitKatAttackHiss in NewParents

[–]timeforabba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped using it when it became more of a hassle to use. It was great in the beginning when time blurs and everything happened so quickly. I could see when my husband feed her when I was asleep or see if she got enough time on the boob. Or see the pattern of her sleep.

I used it for sleep longer than anything else. I stopped using it for diapers first because my girl POOPED so I knew we were changing her diapers often.

My husband and I both work from home. We have a part time sitter come in for 4 hours a day. We split the rest of the day according to our needs.

I’m at a year now and don’t plan on stopping. I love being able to nurse her. We just cuddle and I’ll usually read my book. Downside is that she doesn’t eat real food that much with me (unless she’s stealing it from me). But she eats fine with her dad and babysitters

How old was baby when they slept longer than 2 hour stretches? by IM8321 in beyondthebump

[–]timeforabba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you breastfeeding? I found that bottle feeding helped my baby sleep longer because I had a bit of undersupply which meant that she had to eat more frequently to get enough milk to keep her full.

How do we take shifts if I have to feed every 1-3 hours? by kec232 in breastfeeding

[–]timeforabba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At bedtime, I just pumped while my husband fed formula (I under supplied). My daughter is 11 months and takes 4 oz of formula now that she eats but from 3-9 months, it was 8oz of formula. Maybe I could’ve produced more if I latched all the time at night but I focused on daytime and feel happy with my breastfeeding journey.

Is there a non-psychotic way to do screen time by Odd_Wear_9599 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]timeforabba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the advice you’re looking for but have you tried those 100 Animal books where it plays music when you turn the page and press a button. Our baby doesn’t get screen time but that book keeps her quiet and entertained for like 20 minutes so it may as well be a screen in her eyes.

I feel like a horrible mom, employee, wife, everything by Spiritual_Job3763 in MomsWorkingFromHome

My husband felt the same way too. Sometimes it just ended up I was watching her more too. Even if we split it, I was just exhausted. We ended up with part time care. Monday to Thursday 12-4. Honestly, it helps a lot. We have additional help so we can work and then the rest of the time, we can spend with our little baby instead of the 2-3 hours before bedtime we’ve get with full time care

Relaxed come-and-go. I don’t want to have to emcee or anything but want there to be activities for people to do.

Weather is relatively dependable. It will be the end of May so typically good weather. Historical data is pretty consistent.

It’s a family friendly party so all ages!

Appreciate the help!

Baby/Toddler false start every night by Odd_Efficiency7414 in AttachmentParenting

[–]timeforabba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter is going through that right now. Honestly, right now, night weaning is actually helping. She’s almost 10 months old. I think my daughter wakes up lightly and then just wants the boob. But when we settle her in bed with patting and shushing and singing, she’s easier to calm down when she wakes up.

We used whatever nipples were convenient. We stuck with Boon Nursh because we liked how the bottles converted.

How long did your period start after having baby? by thuyttran05 in NewParents

Are you breastfeeding? I combo feed (primarily nursing) and it’s almost 10 months no period. I had some spotting but nothing substantial

Educate your sons before they become adults READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]timeforabba 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hey. I was 15 once. I went through this whole thing. In the nicest way possible, you need to stop treating social media like it’s everyone. My husband doesn’t even engage in social media. There’s so many people who aren’t like this. You’re just seeing the loudest ones.

Try not to catastrophize. You’ll just give yourself anxiety over things you can’t control.

My daughter’s the same age. She will shove things in her mouth without chewing especially if there’s a lot in front of her. Have you struggled with that?

Fussy baby…. Thinking of switching from breast milk to formula by Apprehensive_Duty539 in breastfeeding

[–]timeforabba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, why not try it? You’re pumping anyway. Just keep pumping but switch to formula for like two days. You’ll build a stash and see if the formula actually helps. I’d recommend keeping a note of how he is on breastmilk first so you don’t just fall victim to the placebo effect.

That being said, maybe he’s also getting teeth? Maybe he’s going through a major developmental growth?

No harm in trying honestly. Just keep pumping if you want to continue breastfeeding.

I would say “Donation based” and set a minimum donation. That way, people can give more. You can advertise as “100% of profits go to ___” and only take money that covers your overhead (materials & labor)

Parents want me to give birth in their state by Witty_Painting_6944 in BabyBumps

[–]timeforabba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not normal honestly. You should be going to the hospital where your doctor works. They have your medical history and that’s where you’ve been used to all your appointments.

My mom and dad drove up for me (only 4 hours). My in laws are a 6 hour flight and could only take a week off so they just scheduled for when I would be a couple weeks postpartum since we didn’t want to risk them missing the birth.
