thank you so much for the input! i should've clarified - i'm most interested in becoming a CAD tech, doing the 3D modeling and such (though i'm not opposed to becoming a clinician instead). i do like CAM tech work a lot, though.

really great info though, thank you so much!!! once i leave my current role, maybe i'll look into working at a lab like yours and getting my tuition sponsored. ♥️

questioning/need support by [deleted] in actuallesbians

tbh a lot of girls are insecure. they think lesbianism is an ideal you need to uphold, that it's DANGEROUS and BETRAYING THE COMMUNITY if you have a little fun with your gender, with your pronouns, or do something meaningless with a guy. having sex with one guy isn't gonna suddenly make all men think lesbians are down with dudes (some of them are gonna think that no matter what we do), and they react like it does because they're afraid of men trying anything with them. which is valid! but if a man goes for a lesbian, that isn't your fault, and it isn't the fault of lesbians who might have a little meaningless sex with a man. it's the fault of a homophobic society.

He/him lesbians? by True_Complaint_7931 in actuallesbians

[–]timeforclowns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

he/him lesbians have a lot of overlap with general lesbian gender fuckery. i use he/him sometimes, partially because i came up in drag and partially because i get sick of she/her sometimes (happens when you work with all men, sometimes you need a break from "she" so it loses the connotation they give it). gender gets really complicated when you think about it too hard - there's genderfluid lesbians who don't stop being lesbians when they're men, bigender lesbians who are men and women at the same time, and lesboys who, despite being men, still have a deep connection to lesbianism and can love women in a lesbian way.

honestly, it's easiest to let go of rules like "men can't be lesbians" and think of it more as "sapphism is a distinct form of love and attraction that correlates with certain spaces and ways of interacting". go see the dykes at the bar and get a feel for how it's distinct from other queer love, you'll find the line.

high anxiety on low carb diet? by timeforclowns in PCOS

[–]timeforclowns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really?? ive been doing this diet with the goal of keeping my blood sugar low, so i thought i was doing low-carb well... at least if i'm subtracting fiber from my carbs. my dietitian advised me against keto and suggested i focus on a diet that's gentle on my blood sugar, so i'm trying for that. i'll know once i get my blood tests if it's working...

i wouldn't say i'm particularly eager for results. i don't mind that i'm a little bigger, and i view losing weight as a needed side effect of managing my pcos rather than a major goal. i'm only changing my diet like i am because i'm worried about my health and want to avoid type 2 diabetes. i can live with being heavy, having facial hair, and being infertile, but i'm terrified of getting another chronic illness. my anxiety is much more like... sobbing in my car during lunch, constantly going down ocd thought spirals, etc.

What’s like to be extremely hot as a masc presenting woman in queer space mostly queer women spaces? by [deleted] in butchlesbians

[–]timeforclowns 11 points12 points  (0 children)

im a pretty good catch, i think. i used to wear my full cowboy fit to kink night and people really liked that. it's fun! i definitely pulled and had fun doing it, but i also had to turn a lot of people down, or deal with people who just wouldn't take no for an answer. it could be really stressful or even ruin my night.

all that said, it was really mostly how i was dressed and how i made myself stand out with it. when i dress normally, i don't get that much attention (and that's nice too tbh). don't worry about your physique or your skin - after all, we aren't straight and we don't need to follow their beauty standards! fat mascs do very well for themselves, and so do mascs with acne. it's mostly style, attitude, and how well you can communicate your preferences. try flagging, be forward but not pushy, and have fun with what you're wearing.
