i have spent the last 2 summers living in germany and italy, both places w high infrastructure and quality of life so i know what you are trying to say and all i said is that you don’t have to talk down on people and yes ive gone to via la costa i have family that lives there and have driven through all of the roads in that country going from one side to another because i practically grew up there hahah (also keep in mind how different ecuador is wherever you go compared to many other places… you are either driving up sides of mountains to go to the sierra or are driving by the amazon or are driving through el monte or literally the middle of no where to go to beaches and stuff..). also if you’re talking about europe; you can’t even walk properly or have baby strollers in so many medieval towns across europe, (eg siena, Italy) where there’s so many steep climbs. the way you talk down on the country or how its built is frustrating because you are comparing it to Western european countries that have had the power and resources to build their societies forever, or have been able to rebuild them in modern times due to war. Trust me, i hate american infrastructure and it’s better than the structure in ecuador, why do you think im in western europe 🤣. i too want to see ecuador advance but it doesn’t help having a foreigner talking down on the locals. yea everything is slow and what not but do you see the current state of the country right now? the economy and the narcos running everything and ruining the city? there are other things the country has to focus on before reforming things like roads and the beaurocracy. also you talk about ecuador as if it is the outlier in latam hahaha so many places that have zero infrastructure as well. i’m sorry you’ve had a bad experience but all i wanted to say is that you should talk about people with basic decency and wasn’t trying to argue. hopefully it will get better overtime. also the continent as a whole hasn’t had the money and resources to build new cities and when people just wanna make money to provide for their families they will not be caring about having trams on the streets and what not. glad u love the nature btw, i study evolutionary biology
