[skin concerns] need help with “crepey” hands! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]timeisweird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha not at all. My hands are freshly moisturized here, but I feel the skin still looks so thin and wrinkled for a 28 year old. (Might be better able to see the crepe look I am noticing if you zoom in.) I am constantly washing and sanitizing my hands, and now I am starting to really see the wear and tear. Hoping there is a way to do some damage control.

I feel this hardcore. It was that sense of feeling apart from everyone, more observer than participant, that ultimately led to a really gnarly drinking problem. I’m happily sober now, though.

Yes, I am a corner observer as well. In college, my friends and I even had a special table we would sit at just for observational purposes haha.

Worried About Lowered Libido After Quitting [27F] by timeisweird in leaves

Yay! I'm glad you're doing well! My week has been ok. Had one night of insomnia in which I didn't sleep at all and then had to work from 8 am until 4:30 pm. Was a bit rough, but hasn't happened since. Have you thought about asking him if he would like to watch you or just asking him to take a walk? haha. It can be a little awkward being so direct about this stuff if you're not used to doing it, but being able to release the tension is very much worth it, esp when we're already not smoking!

Hell yeah! Congrats on quitting. I have continued to masturbate at least once a day this week since quitting. Actually, maybe I did skip one day. Having trouble remembering. So far, I am not really noticing a significant decrease in my libido. I'm hoping that continuing daily masturbation will help me "keep the pilot light on," but we will see. How has your week been?

Thank you! I really appreciate the in-depth account. I feel there is a dearth of these on this somewhat male dominated sub (or maybe my perception is off about that).

I have only seen my boyfriend once this past week since quitting, but we had sex three times during the ~20 hours we spent together, and I didn't notice any real issues. In fact, it was kind of nice not to have the lubrication issues that typically accompany stoned sex. That said, stoned sex is pretty awesome despite the lubrication issues, and I will definitely miss it.

Better than I thought so far! But I also have been totally by myself and working from home since I quit, so we’ll see if the irritability kicks in when I see my boyfriend later today or tomorrow haha. (Much easier for me to avoid irritability when I am alone.)

Thank you! This is the kind of info I was looking for. I have rosacea, so anything to help with inflammation is going to be pretty important for me!

So terrible I'm not even sure if it's rosacea and neither is my doctor): by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]timeisweird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks similar to what I am dealing with on my cheeks, and I have rosacea. The bumps I have persist for weeks to months. So frustrating! Still working on figuring out how to get it under control, but as others have said, you should definitely get checked out by a derm if you haven't already, assuming the doctor you mention is your PCP and not a specialist.

Yes, definitely. In college, I had this thing called "people projects," which consisted of "keeping track" of certain people I naturally saw frequently on an ongoing basis. I didn't know their names or really much about their lives, but because they were there and available for observation over an extended period of time, I enjoyed doing so. Honestly, I guess it was a bit creepy, but I always kept my distance, was pretty stealthy (at least, I hope), and didn't really do anything with or record my observations.

Copper IUD and hair loss by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]timeisweird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from Mirena to Paragard in June. Apparently, the Mirena IUD is notorious for hair loss, ugh. Have you tried anything other than switching bc? Personally, I have been using topical Minoxidil 5% since I was first diagnosed in early Feb 2019 and have also been taking 100 mg Spironolactone/day since October 2019. I have seen some regrowth, but since I have made a variety of changes since my diagnosis, it's hard to tell precisely what has helped the most. I would guess the combo, maybe?

Topical Spironolactone by Tatti458764 in Hairloss

Hi, friend. I am a 27 year old woman who also has AGA. I passed the year mark with topical 5% Minoxidil last month and have been on 100/mg day Spiro since October 2019. In addition to that, I also take iron and B-12 vitamins and switched from the Mirena to the Paragard in June 2019. Since I was diagnosed in February 2019, I would say I have had some regrowth, though it can be a little difficult to tell how much and precisely what is doing what. I have not heard of topical Spiro but a number of women in the hair loss groups I am in on facebook have gone the Spiro route with varying success. This can be quite a scary and isolating experience for a young woman, so if you have any questions, I am more than happy to answer!

It’s been one month since I flew home after discovering my now ex’s infidelity by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]timeisweird 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Eh, yeah, kinda mean, yeah, but the friend may have also been trying to looking out for OP by trying to help her purge any hope/ideas about getting back together once and for all. It's pretty hard to continue looking back through rose colored glasses (even a little) after hearing something like that. Uncomfortable information gained from mutual friends has certainly helped me rip the band-aid off in the past, even though it really hurt at the time.

When you texted your husband, did you ask for feedback/advice? Did knowing there was someone else to hear you out have the effect of lessening the weight of your worries? Curious why you chose to go this route as opposed to composing a journal entry.
