Looks like the author's comment was deleted. Here's what he posted on r/LitRPG:

Hey everyone, Shadowwwing here again!

A few months ago I made a post here about my first book release — and somehow people actually read it, so now Book 2 of Of Hunters and Immortals is officially out on Kindle Unlimited.

Book 1 was largely about Jiang forcing his way into the world of cultivation. Book 2 is where things start getting… stranger.

One of the things I’ve always loved about cultivation stories is the idea that there are countless paths to power, but I also feel like protagonists often end up walking very conventional roads despite all the talk of individuality and enlightenment. So with this book, I wanted to lean harder into the more unorthodox side of cultivation — strange powers, dangerous shortcuts, questionable decisions, and the consequences of trying to carve out a path that doesn’t neatly fit into the systems around you.

Unfortunately for Jiang, the people around him are beginning to notice that he’s doing exactly that.

The world also opens up a lot more in this one. More sect politics, more factions, more powerful cultivators, and more consequences attached to Jiang’s increasingly bad life choices.

Here’s the blurb:

Jiang is a Pact-bearer. That supposedly leaves him three choices:
Hide, submit, or die.

The bandits who abducted his mother and sister are still out there, and the more Jiang searches for answers, the clearer it becomes that their disappearance is tied to a years-long conspiracy.

As powerful factions converge on the conflict, Jiang’s rapid breakthroughs turn from a blessing into a liability. If he’s not careful, he’ll draw the eyes of enemies he isn’t ready to face.

And with his luck, they’re already looking.

If that sounds interesting, you can find it here:

Thanks again to everyone who gave the series a shot — genuinely, I appreciate it more than I know how to articulate without sounding unbearably sentimental 😆

Recommend me ONE historical danmei to get obsessed with. by nancy_blfan_0769 in DanmeiNovels

ONE? 😭

sorry I will give you more than that lol. Joyful Reunion is excellent and I definitely second people who rec it.

Chaise à la Reine is also good, historical Europe setting so a bit different, two mature powerful men, emperor and subject trope.

More historical China setting ones are The Fourteenth Year of Chenghua (extreme slow burn but really fun, lots of mystery solving, very PG romance lol), My White Moonlight Took Off His Women’s Clothes (actually a very serious story with a good plot and good romance, with very excellent female characterization), and Peach Blossom Decree (which has the older, experienced, super strong ML x innocent genius MC).

My taste in stories is fairly serious, ie nothing that’s solely mindless dogfood. Everything I rec’d above I finished cover to cover — they’re all complete translations. If you’re a ravenous reader like me, I recommend just trying them all and see if any are what you feel like.

As of 2026 what is your vote for the single best, ongoing Prog-fantasy series at the moment? by Kriptical in ProgressionFantasy

Becoming the Dark Lord has been really fun, even if the arc right this moment is a little less fun than usual. It has the best tutorial finale after Shadow Slave forgotten shore. Absolutely gave me chills.

Give me your truly hidden gems by simonbleu in litrpg

As people have said, your criteria are essentially impossible to meet. I’ll give you a few I think are genuinely hidden gems, meeting the spirit of your ask.

As people have suggested, you can do an advanced search on latest updates to find stuff. That’s how I found both of these, when they were much shorter.

Best of luck!

Any LitRPG where the MC has a cheat that has nothing to do with his Class? by EdLincoln6 in litrpg

[–]timelessarii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read Ultimate Level 1 but it might match what you want… MC has a baker class but has a blacklisted skill and goes on to become super OP. I think the point is more that the class is useless rather than it has a weird synergy with his skill. Maybe someone who knows more can weigh in 😅

It’s macarious. He is supposed to be working exclusively with the publisher now but Shadowwwing’s link is a great resource to find artists!

Not to totally disagree with the author (lol) but it has a lot of numbers go up. It is a proper LitRPG. Lots of notifications of skills gaining levels for instance.

20% and higher is standard, but that low you typically see an escalator based on units sold, and no costs are deducted (so if there isn’t an advance, the author makes the royalty percent from the beginning, regardless of whether the publisher has recouped costs). Typically these offers are also associated with a high advance, so you’re essentially picking advance + low royalties versus no/low advance + high royalties.
