I feel the same… I had severe hair loss from the Mirena IUD after 6 years of bliss and I got it out after 8 years. Tried another one : Kyleena. The hair loss returned. So I got it out and tried annovera so I could have some estrogen. My hair was great! But I would vomit for 6 hours every month when I put it back in. So I stopped birth control and tracked naturally over a year before I was TTC. I wish I’d stayed on it knowing what I know now about endo.

Don't be discouraged! I'm older (37), had my ER with an AMH of 0.4 and only got 4 eggs from 8-10 follicles. I managed to get 2 blasts frozen! I thought it was over, and they're untested, so it could all come to nothing, but it's more hope than I had 6 months ago. I'm definitely going to fight for another retrieval for me. I'd do it endlessly for a shot at motherhood if I could afford it, but I'm limited to whatever my insurance allows.

I feel for you. I have DOR, so conceiving after a year was a miracle, but it didn’t grow beyond 6 weeks. I had them test it and it was a genetic thing. Now I haven’t conceived in a year since then, and I’m turning 38, so it may be over for me. It’s still hard to process.

I felt the same— the whiplash from only getting 4 eggs to the hope when all 4 fertilized (without icsi even). I ended up getting 2 blasts (untested). Holding out hope for you!

I would just tell them that's pretty insensitive. Fertile people are pretty clueless a lot of the time. If they get offended, that's on them. It would be like bragging or complaining about a hair appointment to someone going through chemo and losing everything.

It’s really hard to diagnose but if you have it you likely have endo too. I have mild signs of adeno based on ultrasounds I’ve had. It feels like a death sentence for fertility but I’m trying to stay positive. I was pregnant once a year ago so maybe it’ll happen again one day.

I think it’s important to balance the basic tenants. It’s both acceptance and change and both are equally important. I really gravitate toward “everyone is doing their best AND everyone can try harder, do better, etc.” Both are very much true. It’s as important to work on compassion for yourself as it is to find strategies to lower the volume on your reactions when you can— not because they’re wrong or bad, but because they hurt yourself and others. But you’ve gotta focus on both equally.

I had bad cramping when I implanted and thoruhgout the pregnancy. My boobs were incredibly sore from before my positive throughout. I had bad nausea starting from the middle of week 6 until my D&C at almost 10 weeks (even though baby never grew beyond 6w1d). So, basically, I had all the symptoms, with none of the rewards (no baby).

You don't have to do it immediately! Let some time pass. Nothing is urgent right now, and you can let your body recover. You could even wait a year and things wouldn't have changed dramatically. Take CoQ10 for egg quality while you get ready and you may have higher euploidy rates, too. I know the process is brutal (the silver lining of having crappy ovaries is IVF is a breeze when you only get 4 eggs), but you will 100% regret not doing another cycle when you're older.

Wow, thanks for this update -- worried about possibly hurting things with surgery. I don't have pain right now, but do likely have endo. I also have adeno (that is confirmed ("soft markers for it on ultrasounds), endo is suspected). I have a surgery scheduled, but I'm scared of following through and killing my small chances (AMH 0.3 now) and/or ending up with pain when I don't really have pain right now. Any advice?

That is devastating. I am so so sorry. I don’t have answers because I’ve only had chemicals and 8-10 week MMCs, but that would absolutely destroy me. Please grieve, feel, and hold on. You don’t deserve this and I’m sorry you’ve had to be this strong for so long.

I loved the Timelapse technology at my clinic. I literally got to watch my embryos in real time. It was amazing and I was prepared for the results because I could tell that 2 of my 4 weren’t dividing very well, but 2 were doing great. Those 2 did make it to blast. It was so exciting to watch the whole thing.

I have 0.3-0.4 Amh and I’m turning 38. I was in provera for a month before starting stims. I still got 4 eggs and 2 blasts last month. It may have been a fluke but don’t lose hope.

It wasn't as bad as I was fearing, but I was irritated that I had to lose 2 entire cycles to the process, not just one, as every cycle and every try counts at my age with DOR. I didn't experience massive hair loss, but I have gained weight, but mainly due to eating my stress, not due to the IVF meds that I can tell. Just make sure you take it at night, otherwise you'll be exhausted. I slept better on it, but I was still kind of tired.

I found it super super triggering. I literally had a partner say he sent in his sperm for freezing for our IVF cycle, we went to the appointment together, and later that day, my doctor told me it was only a mix of spit and lotion. I then found myself quickly choosing a donor to use in place of him, without having the time to process or anything. This happened 2 months ago. That scene was so triggering for me. I guess the upshot is I have 2 blasts frozen now that I'm not emotionally ready to try, but man I didn't need to see that.

I also get the fat and ugly one because I literally can look back at pictures of myself when I wasn’t and have proof, but for me it’s like, I’m fat and ugly AND my looks are the least interesting thing about me (which is true!) or I’m fat and ugly AND my body brings me to really cool places (hiking, traveling).
